Within a month the edges of the Speck See Thru case began to chip. Some of the pieces were rather substantial in size; an inch long by 3/8 inch wide. This in spite of very gentle and infrequent handling. It's a very popular case because there is nothing similar and a case is the best way to keep a MBP close to original condition. It has served its purpose, but it has taken some big cosmetic hits because of the brittleness of the plastic.

I travel a lot and this cover has worked out great. Am constantly asked how I got a purple Mac because people can't even tell it's just a cover.

The case works great, easy to install and does what it's supposed to do, protect the laptop. After a month, it has become scratched, which is more obvious because of the dark purple color, but then the laptop isn't!
The purple color is way darker than the photos online indicated but I like purple anyway!!
I have heard from others who purchased similar cases that theirs were somewhat cheaper, from the same manufacturer, but when I was looking, no one else was offering this color more reasonably.

Love this product, but do agree with others that it is a lot of money for the two pieces of plastic you get (but they are perfectly cut!). Am very glad I bought it, just wish it were a little cheaper. But I am sure it will be worth it in the long run!

I was excited to receive this hard case to protect my MBP. When it arrived I was very disappointed. The picture doesn't indicate how shiny this case is. I felt that the shininess made my computer look very cheap. In addition, fingerprints showed up on it like crazy and it also attracted pet hair. I felt that the MBP deserved something better and I sent it back.

I give it 2 stars because it probably does protect the finish on the case.

Though advertised to fit a 15.4-inch MBP, this item is clearly designed for the older 15-inch MBP.
