This is a pretty standard screen protector; it does what it says and nothing more. It cuts down on the glare and it protects the iPad screen from minor scratches and from finger prints.

Bubbles do abound though! I thought it was frustrating putting these on my iPhone. Man, was I cheesed off after trying to put one on the huge iPad screen.

Until one of my friends gave me a tip!

He said to apply it while in the bathroom with the shower running with hot water. The humidity in the air pretty much knocks the dust out of the air, which makes the application SO much easier.

They send you two of these, because it's so difficult to install you will goof the first one up. On my first try, I ended up with bubbles that would not move no matter what I tried, peeling the film back and resetting didn't help. The second time I cleaned the screen with Windex and made certain that there was no contamination on the screen, and after about 15 - 20 minutes of painstaking work, I got it on with no bubbles. You must work in a *very* clean environment because the slightest speck will cause a bulge in the film and form what appears to be an air bubble, but is a permanent defect. The sticky side of the film will ensure that any dust or hair is there for good. You can either live with it, or start all over with a new piece (at $12 a try). There is no doubt that the film cuts reflections, I was able to use the iPad outdoors (in the shade) - much easier to see than with the glossy surface. The screen doesn't look quite as razor sharp, but it's the trade off to cut reflections. The contrast didn't seem to be badly affected (blacks still look good). Off-axis viewing seemed fine.

Speck has gone for the bare-bones instructions, but I think this is a mistake. With a few more cautions and details about performing a proper installation, I probably would have got it on the first try instead of wasting money and becoming very frustrated with the product.

I was apprehensive about buying this screen protector after reading many of the reviews here on Amazon. After purchasing and installing it, however, I can assure you that those fears were entirely misplaced. I should note that I have tried three different screen protectors for my iPad and this was by far the best. It was much easier to apply than the Bodyguardz product and it did not leave any of the sizeable bubbles or haze that the Bodyguardz did. The other reviewers are right in that you must apply this screen protector to a thoroughly cleaned iPad screen. I simply took the cleaning cloth that was included and carefully wiped down my iPad before applying the screen protector. Once I had it in place on the screen, I used the included plastic card to remove any bubbles that remained. I consider myself a perfectionist when it comes to things like this and even I was amazed at how good this product looked once it was on. As another testament, I took my iPad to the Apple store earlier this evening and the Genius there was impressed by how good the screen protector looked. He liked the anti-glare protection that this product offered and he was amazed that there were no bubbles or dust under the cover. Needless to say I would recommend this product with reservation.

I'm not entirely sure why folks are having problems with this product - but I suspect that the previous reviewer who said to view the video on the manufacturer's web site hit the nail on the head. The instructions on the package are inadequate.

The anti-glare properties are a much needed change to the standard screen, and the feel is actually an improvement. Instead of slick glass, it's satin smooth. But you do need to take a few minutes to install the protector correctly, exactly as shown in the 2:59 minute video. I viewed the video through once before opening the package, then did my installation while it played through again. Didn't even have to watch it all the way through the second time. Total installation? Less than five minutes.

The video doesn't emphasize making sure that the film is square to the screen so it doesn't touch the iPad sides, which can result in the edge of the film being slightly raised and create a `bubble.' That didn't particularly bother me as the edges are inside my case anyway - but it might bother others, so a bit of patience and caution is advised.

If you have an iPad and want to reduce glare, improve the screen `feel,' and protect that glass from things like jewelry - this one will do the trick nicely. Strongly recommended.

I know that this product is priced almost at "two for the price of one" in comparison to other brands, but at any price it's still not worth it.

This film is difficult to apply and virtually impossible to smooth to a bubble-free view.

Buy power support brand film instead. It is nearly the twice the price and does not include a cleaning cloth... but you'll actually get it on your iPad where it can do some good!

I buy items manufactured by speck very often and their products are usually well made and perfect for my iphone, ipod touch, etc. Unfortunately, I did not get the same result with this screen protector! It was so difficult to put on and I have put on many screen protectors with no problem. I used BOTH screen protectors and was unsuccessful. I could not get the bubbles out with the first one and then when I went to use the second one, it would not separate from the orange film that is attached and I ended up removing the entire thing. I was then unable to get it back on without having the same problem with bubbles that I did with the first one. I'm extremely disappointed and cannot believe I wasted all this money! Now I have to find something else to protect my screen, probably will just get a sleeve to put it in when i'm not using it.
