Protects well, makes a bit more bulky,

This review is from: Speck ToughSkin Case for iPod classic 4G (Clear) (Electronics)
I've got an iPod Photo 30G in mine, on the 20G setting (back reversed). It fits snugly but does add some bulk over and above the case plastic.
I've been using it for 2 weeks and I'm very happy with the level of protection. I thought I would remove the click-wheel cover, but it was turned out to be convenient to use. The case is "sticky" so harder to get in and out of my pocket than a shiny case, but thats a good thing most of the time (sticks well to my car dashboard). There is no protection for the top and bottom ports. A rubber grommet would be nice (and I'm surprised that no third paty offers them). Consequently its not sand-proof. I'd rate it 5 stars if they made a smaller size 'specially for my iPod, but other than that I find it to be a perfect rugged case.

Tough as Nails....,

I love my ToughSkin. The rubber bumpers and casing protect the iPod from the shock associated with drops and oopsies as well as providing a better grip to hold the iPod.
There is a clear plastic cover for the display and another clear plastic cover for the wheel which can flip open easily to access the iPod controls. The wheel protector is also removable if you wish to do away with it. I'd recommend the Apple wired remote control or an AirClick for iPod remote control to access the volume, previous/next track, play/pause, and sleep functions. The rubber bumpers also prevents you from hooking up accessories that rest on top of the iPod but it can be easily remedied by cutting the rubber skin and fitting the accessory. That's what I did to accomodate my AirClick remote control. I used a pair of wire cutters to cut into it. I've heard others using a brand new Exacto Blade to cut into it as well. It fits the 60 GB iPod nicely. But it made my 20GB iPod bulkier because it was designed to hold the 60 GB iPod. The ToughSkin comes with a backplate with bumpers to secure the slimmer 20GB iPods into the ToughSkin. I wished they made a slimmer profile ToughSkin. But bulk is a small price to pay for protection. Save your iPod from damage by getting the ToughSkin. However, if you want to completely seal your iPod from dust and water, think about the OtterBox instead. Otherwise, the ToughSkin will always be the first thing to get whenever I see my friends getting a new iPod.

The Ultimate Protection but Doesn't Play Well with Others,
This review is from: Speck ToughSkin Case for iPod classic 4G (Clear) (Electronics)
Part of having an iPod is having the best iPod "toys". ToughSkin is the Ultimate Protection against dirt and light rain(not water-proof). The skin includes clear plastic covers for the screen and wheel (flip down). The cons are you have to remove it from the skin in order to use it with other toys like iTrip, iVoice and the Bose speakers. If you are rough on your Pod, this is a must!
