This Speck rubber case is a tough one, very resistant. Seems like some speck models have a thin rubber protection for the ipod's wheel, which is so good, though some like this one doesn't. The screen protector is wonderful. It's good for 30gb, 60gb, 80gb and 160gb, it comes with a rubber suplement for thinner ipods, though its neccesary to use it to fit most ipods (except 160gb) so they won't be loose in the case. It feets so tight that's hard to slip the ipod out of the case once it's fit inside. Belt clip button can be removed if feels annoying for some people. Holes are big, so you will have no trouble connecting things, except for ipod voice recorders, since most of them fit completely to the whole ipod dock side, so that for using some gadgets, you will have to leave your ipod naked. Maybe Speck will develop some rubber case models with a detachable bottom... Otherwise, the case is excellent.

I ordered one of these for myself, and the black version for my husband. It fits the iPod like a glove. They include a spacer insert made of the same material if you have the 80Gig iPod. The material is stretchy and grippy and tough. The insert to protect the screen has stayed put, I'm much more comfortable throwing my iPod into my purse and not worrying about scratching it. It doesn't slide around on the desk, and with the clip, I can attach it to myself / purse / belt... It's well named... Tough Skin.

I bought this for my new 80Gig classic. It fits like a glove and comes with a nice hard plastic screen cover. The belt clip seems very legit and I am confident it will not fall off (clicks in).

The only complaint I have about this case is that because it is rubberized has a tendency to stick in your pocket. But that's the only complaint, otherwise I love it. It's very durable, the clip is very secure, the face cover is a thick plastic which was a surprise, and it fits nicely into my Bose iPod player. The case probably adds about an 1/8 of an inch all around so it may not fit into some form fitting players. The clear looks great with the silver iPod. Not sure how it would look with the black, but they also have the black toughskin too.

I bought the older version of this product for my 30GB iPod 2 years ago. The rubberized case is of course bullet proof. Have dropped the iPod from great height with no fear of any damage whatsoever.
I am finding out the downside is that somehow this case does not protect from scratches to the body. My screen was looking a bit gummed up, but I assumed it was the Speck screen insert taking the brunt and protecting the iPod screen. Upon removing the iPod, I was surprised to see that it was actually my screen underneath that was scratched up. It is still usable enough to know where I am navigating on the menu. For the video function, however, the screen is too damaged to really see anything. My only guess is that some dirt can get in between the screen and the shield as there is a slight gap, and this has caused the abrasion on the screen.
If shock absorption is the main concern this product has the right idea. It will, in my experience, leave the screen barely usable. A good alternative would be Invisible Shield, though this would admittedly give no protection against drops and bumps.

Fits well and stays secure on the belt.I use this alot outside doing landscaping so the plastic screen cover really helps keep the screen safe plus the quick release button on the belt loop makes it convenient to get on and off.

This case works about as advertised. It does a good job of protecting the iPod. The clear screen fits into the rubber case, and even though I didn't think it would stay in, it seems to stay in place okay. There are two things about the case that aren't entirely desirable. First, it is pretty bulky which does away with the sleekness of the iPod. Second, the rubber isn't smooth so it isn't easy to slip the iPod into a coat pocket or into a pocket in my backpack. It just makes it harder to put it someplace. The clip works well and is easy to take on and off the case.

The case is easy to get on and off, but the plastic window cover doesn't stay in place.

Fits well, looks cool and now I don't have to worry so much about protecting my ipod from injury :)

I bought this looking for something to protect my new $250.00 investment. First off I'm very accident prone and drop my electronics frequently so when I was looking for a case to protect my I-pod that would help protect it when dropped from a distance and also make sure the unit was ultimately protected. First the PROS:
1. It is a thick rubberized unit that provides excellent protection to the Ipod
2. The fit inside the case is tight making sure it does not come lose or move around
3. Comes with a plastic Shield that goes on top of the screen to protect the screen making it almost completely protected all around the unit
4. The belt clip makes it great for hands free
Cons:
1. If you're like me and take it in and out of the case a lot than you will quickly find that the rubber starts to stretch making a loser fit every time you take it in and out of the case
2. The rubber although makes great protection makes it almost impossible to put in your pocket or get out
3. The clip on the back of the case that connects to the belt attachment is always there making the unit bulky

All and all if you don't plan on taking it in and out of the case and don't put it in your pocket this is a great unit for you!
