This is the greatest incarnation of an animated Spider-Man by far! This show captures the essence and teenage angst and drama of one Peter Parker like none other. In my opinion, only the Ultimate Spider-Man comics surpass this interpretation of Spidey/Peter.

I agree that I would like to have the season 2 set, but I want to support this show. If we all buy the single disc sets, maybe Disney (Marvel's new owner) will order a long-awaited third season.

I don't personally get Disney XD, but I have seen these season 2 episodes on YouTube. I am looking forward to seeing them in anamorphic widescreen! (Now if only they'd release them on Blu-Ray!)

One of the best animated shows made. For anyone who is a fan of Spidey or animated action in general, check this out. The first season of the show was great. The second season, which starts with this volume, is even better. The one major drawback is there isn't going to be a third season, so after you watch vol.'s 5,6,7,8, that's it. And if you do check out all the volumes of season 2, you'll realize what a shame that truly is. Great storylines, memorable characters, intense action and appropriate for all ages. Can't really say enough about Spectacular Spiderman......

My grandson loves "anything" that is Spider-Man; and he loved this cartoon. He was so excited after he watched it and started telling me the entire story.

I am still unbelievabl in love with spiderman and this show reminded me of that. Growing up, Peter Parker was someone I related to; and now Disney once again proves why they shame Walt's name.

Over the years, Disne has destroyed great shows including: Doug, American Dragon, Iron Man, and SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN.

I absolutle recommend this show if you value the comics or just love our freindly neighborhood Spidey. I'm purchasing them soon, but may I just say: Disney better not add insult to injury with this new Ultimate Spider-man show. It looks futureistic and shield with the Avangers will be in it. Drake Bell will pla Spder-man, after mocking the webhead with the movie Dragonfly!

Everthing so far about Disney's new show sounds pathetic, insultiing, or devoid of the original comics that created the wallcrawler we all love. Spectacular Spider-man made a comic based modern spin on the show...better than the comics now in my opinion. But as Ben Parker says in the death of Spder-man, "You did Good, my boy".

ALL episodes in this Spectacular Spider-Man animated series are absolutely The Best Spider-Man cartoons and stories since the 1966 Amazing Spider-Man IN COLOR cartoons!!

Season 1 was well... Spectacular! Season 2 was highly anticipated and DID NOT DISAPPOINT - equally Spectacular!!

The ONLY disappointment is that there is NO Season 3 or more!! What is it with Disney - the new owners of Marvel!? This entire series deserves more and more seasons!

The retelling of the early Spider-Man stories with totally modern twists was a stroke of genius! With all the material having been written in the Classic Comic Books how could Disney cancel this series!!??

Then again Disney did the same thing with their equally ground breaking reinterpretation of Iron Man with their Iron Man Armor Adventures - BUT that is another sad story for for an equally fantastic series!! What's worse they left us with a cliff hanger!! What really happened to Tony Stark Sr.!!??

DISNEY - wake up and bring both series back!!! There were non better!

Ever since I saw the first episode of this show I've been in love with it, it's the only superhero series that's managed to tie with the original Batman: TAS in terms of quality in my mind, and that's saying a lot considering that show has loads of nostalgia going for it as well.

Considering how fantastic it was and how much the people who made it clearly had for the character and the franchise, it honestly, literally hurts to think about all the potential Disney squandered by canceling it - and criminal as that was, they only add insult to injury by refusing to release the second season as a box set.

Come on Disney, haven't you been cruel enough to us webheads by shooting down the best Spiderman cartoon every made right in its prime? At least have the decency to make it easier for us to enjoy the two awesome seasons we did get...this individual volume thing is just a blatant cash grab.

My husband was very excited to get this as a gift. He says it's a great series (for adults & kids!). Price was good, and it came quickly.

I've been watching the series with my 6 year old who now loves spider-man, and he adores this series. He's great with it because by the end of each episode, no matter how bad it looks for spidey he still ends up OK at the end, which he's good with. I like this take on spidey, I just wish this series kept going. Will be picking up the last disks soon.

Everything I loved about the first season continues here, the updated yet classic Spidey is in full force.
If you don't want to wait for a full second season release ( I didn't) this is worth picking up at a discount. If you can get it in the $5-$6 dollar range you're only paying for 4 episodes this disc has.
