This review is from: Spectacular Waterfalls of Western North Carolina: A Guide for Discovery and Photography (Paperback)
I bought this book prior to a vacation to photo waterfalls in southern Appalachia. Working from memory, I remember thinking what a disappointment this book was, especially for the money. There are relatively few falls mentioned here and the selection isn't necessarily the "must see" ones either. With no maps, following the directions can be a cumbersome task. And the photos are black and white and of very average quality both from a technical and compositional standpoint.

Maybe I was just looking for something different for my trip, but I found Brian Boyd's Waterfalls of the Southern Appalachians, also purchased on Amazon, to be much more useful (although at 7+ years old some of the directions to waterfalls have changed due to land ownership changes, roads, etc.). Boyd's book is also much less expensive. Waterfalls of the Southern Appalachians.
