Ladies and gentlemen...first of all, if you're going to give something a bad review, do so for something when you follow the instructions and it failed to work as advertised. This stuff works...not as an airborne spray (as one individual attempted) nor is it a permanent solution. The instructions clearly state (once you sprayed in the hole) after 48 hours "plug the entrance hole with a piece of wooden dowel coated with carpenter's glue or wood putty." This stuff doesn't claim to be a permanent solution after you spray. Follow the instructions and it will do the job. A professional may charge $150-$250, these cans range from $3-5. I'll take these cans any day.

My experience: I sprayed after dusk and the following morning, three bees laid dead on the patio. Because I didn't plug up the hole (keep forget to get a dowel) I keep spraying in the hole. Clearly other bees in the neighborhood know of this hole but because I keep spraying it every other day, they make their way half-way in the hole and realize it is inhospitable, and immediately vacate the area. This...stuff...works.

I have learned to read the bad reviews first...because most of the time they are due to consumer error, not because of product defect. Clearly the guy trying to spray them in the air didn't read the can, and was just as unsuccessful as Mr. Miyagi trying to catch a fly with chop sticks.

Carpenter bees have been wrecking havoc on our decks, arbor, and garage. From the research I've done, I understand the children come back to their old nesting grounds. It important to kill the parents(nest), seal the holes, monitor for the previous brood, and any of their extended cousins looking for a new home.

Anyway, the product worked. It not only killed the carpenter nests, but I also used it on wasp nests. It killed the wasps within a minute while they were clinging to their nest. If you're using this foam spray (as liquid spray) to hit a tiny moving object, then please promptly put the spray can down, walk away and critically evaluate what you just tried to perform. If the carpenter bees are in flight, then you'd have better results using a swatter, spray them down with a garden hose+shoe, set loose a ninja trained cat, release the Kracken! or simply use a liquid spray.

You have to spray it in the hole after dark or if you see one go in. Make sure you find all the holes and after spraying fill them with putty to seal. I felt horrible poisoning the bees and if I saw any of them fall to the ground I'd just smash it quickly with a shovel so it didn't suffer too long. Unfortunately it had to be done since they just kept multiplying and became more and more terrrotorial and aggressive dive bombing my head. Not to mention tearing up our deck.

This came with a red tube to attach (like WD-40) so that you can stick and bend that tube into the holes and spray the foam up to 5 inches back in the holes to ensure you get to the nest.

Had a wasp nest in the ground underneath an out building. The spray dispersed easily and expanded as indicated. The nest was taken care of. The foam dissapated rapidly but was effective.

We just purchased a new swingset for our kids. Within a week we had multiple holes from carpenter bees. I purchased the spray not expecting much. I sprayed the holes and within minutes the bees were literally falling out of the holes. Since spraying I have only seen 2 other bees attempting to use the holes as a nest but again spraying them with this had them dropping like flies! The only disappointment is that with the bees not coming around any more my weekends are not as exciting now that I can't unleash my extermination skills as often. Buy this product and you too will feel the power of extermination pulsing through your veins. Remember with great power comes great responsibility and thus you should keep this out of children's reach because they can not yet handle this much power.

This works fine when it immediately contacts the bees. It foams and expands in the hole as advertised. Problem is, the residual effect seems to be weak. Carpenter bees keep coming back to the nest with little consequence. Carpenter Bees are tenacious in their ability to come back and re-occupy an empty nest. This foam may be okay if you are going to seal the hole right away. For a better option, try the Delta Dust/duster combo also sold here on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004SFV7E6). Long term, it will do much more to get rid of the bees and kill larvae once they hatch. An exterminator I talked to agreed that dusting was the way to go with CBs. Make sure to seal up the hole with wood putty or caulk and paint over it after you've allowed the dust to work for a week or so.

Nothing will totally eradicate carpenter bees, but this is the only product we have found that begins to control them. You do have to re-use through-out the season, but it really helps to keept the damage they do to a minimum. Great product!
