Spectracide Triazicide insect killer concentrate: The company has drastically reduced the active ingredient Gamma Cyholthrin. This product didn't work for me. I sprayed in two areas where ants were visible. It didn't seem to phase them. a couple of days later I sprayed again at the recommend concentration as before. Sprayed directly on the ants didn't seem to hurt them. They disappeared for a while later, but now they are marching again. Of course with the active ingredient reduced you put more into each gallon (I use a pressure sprayer), but still it simply did not work. Maybe your ants will be different.

Read the label people. Those who had bad luck with ants. It kills only certain species of ants. read the list of affected species. if I read the reviews I see a geographic division of who liked the Triazicide and those that found it did not work on ants. You have the wrong ants.

I spray with 1.5 oz/ gal in pressure sprayer(15+ acres) for mosquito control. It works better and is much cheaper than Malthion. One caution is will corrode your equipment if you don't flush it out when done spraying.

I read the other reviews of this product and I have to admit...I generally agree with Mark's review. This product has worked pretty well for me. I have used both this product and the solid granule product for my lawn (granules for the front and majority of the side lawn, liquid for the back). Now, I'm not terribly concerned about killing ants with this product as I have a professional exterminator take care of my indoor bug and carpenter ant problem but, I can say that for most other bugs outside of my house (I am more concerned about killing grubs than most anything else), this product works! I shook the Spectracide Triazicide bottle well, dispensed 3-4 ounces of the product per gallon of water in my pressure sprayer, mixed well, then started spraying away. About 15-20 minutes after spraying the mixture, I took my garden hose and showered the lawn to kill the underground bugs (including the grubs). I sprayed back in late April and I just did the 2-month application last week...I can honestly say that my outdoor bug problem is solved! Spectracide, keep up the good work!

I had no problem with this product, I sprayed the perimeter of the house as instructed using a 3 tbsp per US gallon ratio, I can still see ants outside but none in my house as before. This product worked excellent for me and have recommend it to friends.

I live in Canada....maybe our ants are not as tough as your US ants, you guys do everything bigger down there!

I had thrips tearing up my ficus hedge. I tried several products but the all had to have contact with the insect to kill it and wouldn't kill the thrips that hatched from eggs. This product kept killing after I sprayed, so now, no more thrips. I'll be buying again next year. AND YOU CAN USE IT IN THE GARDEN!

The good thing about reviewing insecticides is that the product either works or it doesn't. Well yes, there are also all the in-between levels of "working". I can tell you that for me, Triazicide had a noticeable effect. I especially have problems with roaches and mosquitoes. After spraying, I can always count on seeing belly-up roaches. Also, without spraying, the mosquitoes can be fierce. After spraying, there are none. Keep in mind that locations are different. I tend not to get mosquitoes blowing in from other locations. When my property has been sprayed, they are gone - until the pesticide wears off and I have to spray more.

I can't give you any technical specs or statistical reports, but I can tell you that I already ordered more.

While it says it works for mostly insects, I was more concerned with ants as they are my primary problem. I used it to treat the perimeter around the house. Usually by the start of summer ants find their way in to the home. I mixed according to the directions and put it around the foundation, including base of windows and doors. It's been several weeks and I have not seen any ants in the house. I would like to try this in the yard and other areas to see if I could get rid of some grubs and other pests. Overall I'm happy with the cost and effectiveness of the Spectracide.

I’ve been using these types of mix and spray insecticides mainly for ant control for a few years, and this works as good as any of the other brands I’ve tried (Ortho and a couple of others). It’s simple to use: just add 3 tablespoons of the insecticide to a gallon of water, and spray it around the perimeter of the house.

It works, but the application has to be on the heavy side – I usually go through a good three gallons of spray around my house (which is pretty average in size). I find that two applications, about a week apart, is the best starting point, with re-application about every 6 weeks afterwards. It’s best to apply it when there’s no rain in the forecast for a couple of days after application. I use a wide spray when treating direct-dirt areas (e.g., planting beds at the house perimeter) and a course spray when treating hard surface areas (such as a brick patio that abuts the house). I also spray right on the house foundation walls (ground level to about 6 inches up).

It’s not perfect, but it’s far more effective than the granules. The manufacturer’s claim of “use it once and it lasts for 8 weeks” is not accurate, but at least it’s more honest than the ones that claim one application can last for 3+ months.

Easy to use and worth trying if you’re trying to keep the ants at bay.
