It doesn't spray in a stream consistently and it doesn't kill on contact.

Bought 2 cans of this stuff only to find out one thing! When it says "Up to 27 ft Jet Spray" they LIE LIE LIE! The only way this product would reach up to 27 ft is if there were a 30mph WIND behind it. The product only went 6-8 feet for me (both cans). I even noticed (after the fact) that your utube video shows the guy holding and talking about up to 27 ft. Look at the distance he's at! 6-8 FEET!!!! Your product is a waste of my time and my money. Will use Ortho next!

Good luck with your future endeavors

Bought this from a box store to eliminate a hornets nest that suddenly appeared in my front yard. Although I don't think it is capable of spraying 27 feet it did do the job for me from a few feet away. I sprayed and it instantly killed the nest in the ground. Other than one or two hornets flying around that was it, no problems. Like most of these sprays, I would not rely on it spraying a long distance but it does kill the hornets quickly. Pricing here is similar to the box stores for a 2 pack.

I do not understand all of the bad reviews this product is getting. If you do what the directions tell you there are no problems. I have a mail box that the wasp think is their hotel and the only stuff that puts up a no Vacant sign is Spectracide. If I spray my box with any other brand the wasp will be back in a matter of days. I spray my box with Spractracide and it will be 4 to 5 weeks before I see a live wasp in my mail box again. Just ask the mail man, he loves it too. Yes it may not spray 27 feet but I know I have sprayed up to 25 feet and that was on a nest on the side of my barn. Killed everyone of them on contact. So to all of you 1 Stars, either you work for the competitors or you are not reading the directions.

The can says, "Kills on contact". I guess they meant, after you spray half the can on them, they will fly away and maybe die. Wasps were building a home above my front door. The first time I spayed them, I only got them a little wet, after I watched them for a while, I only saw them cleaning themselves off. No casualties.

So I waited for them to settle down and Sprayed nearly the entire can directly on them. Luckily, this was enough for the queen to actually leave. I'm going to assume she died, as I haven't seen her back." Can't guarantee that. However, I still see several of the smaller wasps return.

This product is worthless. I guess they can still fulfill their guarantee. If you spray them "making contact" and wait long enough they will eventually die (just might have to wait until winter time). I guess they could say the same if we sprayed ourselves. "If you come in contact with this spray, we guarantee you will die (it might take 100 years, but eventually you'll die)"

I bought Spectracide Wasp & Hornet Killer spray to destroy a hornets nest that was deeply ensconced in a big maple tree in my front yard. THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT WORK. I stood about 15 feet from the nest and started spraying... only to realized that it only sprayed about 8 to 10 feet. I emptied 2 cans of this stuff directly into the nest. About a minute after I finished spraying, the hornets started coming out of the nest. They were definitely not fine, but they were far from dead. Some flew away, about 50 - 60 of them started climbing up the tree and they were buzzing as if they were trying to shake the stuff off of them. After 20 minutes, several hornets started honing in on me. I discharged an old fire extinguisher to make them go away (it worked temporarily) - I would have gotten stung multiple times if I hadn't had that fire extinguisher as a plan B. I had an allergic reaction the last 2 times I got stung by wasps and I'm not sure I would have walked away from multiple hornet stings - there were well over 100 of them.

My wife had to go back to the store and buy 4 more cans - this time she got Raid and Hot Shot. Raid worked the best - it didn't kill on contact, but the hornets that got a direct hit dropped to the ground and died agonizing deaths.

Spectracide Wasp & Hornet Killer is a dangerous product because it doesn't work. The spray distance is less than half of what's advertised so you have to get closer to the danger; not only that, but it doesn't kill "on contact". This product basically puts the user in significant danger. This is no joke. Get this product off the shelves before someone gets seriously hurt.

I am a Christmas tree farmer. I come into contact with hornets and yellow jackets every day. I carry a can of spray with me. This year I tried your Wasp and Hornet killer. It does not work! I have an experiment going...every morning I spray into a crevice in the ceiling on my deck. It will agitate the yellow jackets but after an hour they are back to flying in and out as if nothing ever happened. I have done this for 6 weeks now. Also I spray in the tree farm and no nest ever gets killed!! I have been stung 14 times so far. I will not recommend this product to my fellow farmers.

How can they advertise 27 foot spray when this stuff only travels about 6 feet.
I thought I had a bad can so I uncapped another one, same thing.
You might as well throw feathers at them, it would have about the same effect!
I contacted Spectracide with a complaint. They wanted to know where I purchased
it and did I still have the receipt. They told me they hadn't had any other complaints.
I finally told them I wouldn't be buying any of their products again. They don't care.
