3.0 out of 5 stars Learning to be a Fossil Hunter, January 15, 2008

This review is from: Spectrobes Collector's Edition (Video Game)
I bought the collector's edition around Christmas time and at first thought it was a great game, but it had a couple of draw backs. After the initial start and you can play the game on your own there is no goal at least not outright. You search around for these fossils and gems to feed the spectrobes and once you find them you have to drill them out of the ground. When you are drilling damage will occur, and the trick is to get it out before the damage destroys the spectrobe/gem. You can then reanimate the spectrobe and train it to evolve (Pokemon any one). Only the babies can hunt for other spectrobes and minerals. Once they grow up they loose that ability. That is all I know so far but it is ok. The other thing is the cards that come with it. They are 38 cards but 38 out of how many? They include parts to add to spectrobes and some actual spectrobes, but for the collector in us they don't include all the creatures and minerals and items. Overall it is not for everyone but it is an ok game.

4.0 out of 5 stars Spectrobes Collector's Edition, December 12, 2008
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Spectrobes Collector's Edition (Video Game)
I bought this game for my daughter. She really likes the game and the collector cards that come with it. The one thing she was disappointed about was the cards do not work with other Spectrobes games for the DS.
