The author presents a very skilled look at signal to noise considerations present in dispersive spectroscopy. The author also breaks down each component pertinent to Raman spectroscopy and gives real world data from different Raman instrumentation. Finally, the author provides an informative narrative as to the changes and base phenomenon that have allowed Raman spectroscopy to break through as a viable analytical method. A must have for anyone who uses or wants to learn more about Raman spectroscopy.
