This basket is very well made, and the design is beautiful too. However, I do not recommend this kind of design for fruit. The steel rods surrounding the basket may lead to bruises on the fruit. In general, a fruit basket is better to be soft and flat on its boundary.

This Basket works GREAT for my Citrus Fruits! Right now, it's holding a whole Bag (sorry, don't remember the size, but there are a lot of them in it!) of Clementine Tangerines. When I first got it, all 3 of the Oranges I had fit on the Bottom. It goes on the End Table next to my Recliner so I can grab a snack anytime I want it and it looks very very nice there. It's also VERY solidly constructed with excellent Quality Control in so far as I can see.
