I had read that full-spectrum bulbs are good reading lights. They're not good if you want to light a room, because they tend to concentrate light in a small space and create shadows away from the light. But this light bulb is perfect for a reading or task lamp. It makes it so much easier to read even the smallest print because it creates a contrast that makes the printing stand out. It's much easier on the eyes than conventional fluorescent bulbs when used for reading or close work. Plus, it's bluish white light is more soothing than the yellow-green cast of regular fluorescents. This 26 watt bulb is the equivalent of 110 watts incandescent. Good deal, too.

I was a little unsure when I ordered this light but my newborn seems to really love the sun and living in New England, the great ball of fire in the sky tends to disappear this time of year. Thus, my attempts at bringing a little light into the room.

So far the bulb is awesome. I'm really amazed how much easier it is to read and work by. While I do feel a little better after being in the light, its still too early to tell if my wee one is better (maybe after he's done teething I'll be able to give a better answer), I like to think he's feeling better about his day filled play, drool, and general love. What I do know is that yes, it really is really is easier to read by and that alone makes this bulb worth it. Well that and compared to other CFLs, its pretty decently priced too.

I'd also like to mention that the company I bought this from, Light Therapy Products, did an amazing job packaging this light bulb. I will buy more of these bulbs from them.

I've never bought a full-spectrum bulb until this one, but I'm pleased. I bought it to give my indoor orchids some additional light. It seems to work well, and it's also bright and easy on the eyes. I'm pleased.

Order lamps alone. Then shake them when they arrive. If broken, don't open!!! could be dangerous. Just return it as is. Amazon is cool about it.

This bulb has a light quality I haven't experienced with any light bulb, incandescent, halogen, or fluorescent. It's a bright light that shows colors with clarity and accuracy. We have several plants under the lamp in which this bulb is being used. Only time will tell if the plants will thrive in this light. Everyone who's seen this light in our home has commented on its uniqueness.

This is a good light to use for reading and also photography. I've taken a few digital photos of objects illuminated with this bulb with good results.

The full spectrum light does take some getting used to. The first time I read with it I thought it made me feel a little nausea in my stomach, but I just figured it was my imagination. I did a little digging on the internet and learned that some people do indeed react to full spectrum lights with either headaches or stomach discomfort. Nobody else has complained about this light, including Mrs. Spudman who uses it to crochet.

I am pleased by how well the bulb was packaged, how quickly it arrived and how inexpensive the shipping cost was.
