5.0 out of 5 stars Belongs in any collection on autism, May 16, 2009
This review is from: Autism Spectrum Disorders and AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) (Aac Series) (Hardcover)
Autism has become more prominent in modern society, so understanding it is more important than ever. "Autism Spectrum Disorders and AAC" is a look at people with autism and augmentative and alternative communication - also known as AAC. These individuals have special needs and often need unique techniques for effectively communicating with them. With chapters on encouraging natural speech, literacy, adjusting abnormal behavior, facilitating classroom participation and helping them establish bonds, Pat Mirenda & Teresa Iacono give a manual that is a necessity for educators dealing with these special needs people. As such, "Austism Spectrum Disorders and AAC" belongs in any collection on autism.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Book, August 12, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Autism Spectrum Disorders and AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) (Aac Series) (Hardcover)
The nice thing about this book is that is is related primarily to AAC and Autism. Most books will have a chapter on the topic which often does not help.
