I bought this book for a young man that I tutor. He needed help getting up to speed when entering the eighth grade, I bought the eighth grade book because he goes to a traditional school that advances faster than most. It was pretty helpful and did it's job. I wouldn't recommend doing everything in every part. Some of the chapters are really long. I try and do two chapters a week. some of the chapters get to long and I can only do one a week. I did not like the chapter on the Metric System, the chart they had at the top was confusing, so I had to print my own chart. If your looking for something to catch up or to try and get ahead in math I would certainly recommend this product. (Just a FYI the Science was not that good)

My son has really enjoyed this workbook. We are using it as a supplement to his Lifepac material. He likes the mix.

The new Spectrum Math books are an improvement over the older editions. They are more colorful and the print to the answer keys are larger. These workbooks give plenty of math problems for practice and include word problems as well. I also like the fact that they can actually be completed in less than a year, giving the child a sense of accomplishment.

The book is great for summer math review before entering 8th grade. it covers all topics my child studied in 7th grade. there are a lot of exercises. i recommend this book for practicing during summer or even during school year.

My daughter started using this workbook as soon as it arrived. Some of it is more like a review of what has been already presented in school but that is a good thing. There is so much introduced in a single school year that the teachers don't spend enough time with the different math processes and equations. Unless your son or daughter is very proficient in math, I find that repetition and time is the key for thorough understanding that is remembered and expanded upon. I find that the 8th grade workbook is perfect for my 7th grader. The 7th grade book might have been too easy; and for that reason I do recommend this 8th grade book if you are trying to decide for a 7th grader.

This is very good for the kids, especially during summer breaks. It keeps them on check, so they don't forget what they learned from school.

It took longer than expected for my order to arrive. A little disappointed but otherwise it was good.
