This is an interesting book on the Maldives, unlike most guide books on the market. It contains lots of useful data about the country's history and culture, and therefore it is still interesting even if published many years ago. Information about the resorts will be out of date now but for this you need another book or just go online.
There are also a number of good photographs, both topside and underwater, which will whet your appetite for a trip to the Maldives! The book is printed on high quality glossy paper and as such is is rather heavy, perhaps best suited to be read at home before traveling than to be carried around.
