My toddler son has food allergies. He has egg & soy,plus soy-induced enterocolitis. Needless to say it's difficult feeding him since everything now a days has soy. This product has saved heartache on birthdays and holidays. We try to only make food that he can eat,which is difficult when baking. The baking with this shortening is amazing. You can not tell the difference! We use this plus egg-replacer and we all love the outcome.

Bought this product to bake cookies and cakes for my nephew, who is allergic to dairy and soy. Have used it instead of butter in several recipes, and obtained great results every time. Spectrum Naturals Shortening has no transfat, no cholesterol! High saturated fat, but from coconut oil, not animal fat. I now use it for my baked desserts, as well, and not only for my nephew.

Highly recommend it!

I love baking and read a lot about it.

There are quite some recipes out there that are calling for vegetable shortening.

By now I avoided cookies & co that have vegetable shortening in their recipes because the most common products always contain hydrogenated vegetable oil. And we know it's not the best fat we should consume.

I got lucky and found this product by Spectrum.

The consistency is smooth and fluffy.

It's very good for baking - I got great results!

Good alternative to other shortenings.
