The charm of this set comes from attention to realistic detail. Even though it has a holiday paint job it is a model, not a toy, designed to give years of attractive service.

Bachmann's On30 trains were invented specifically to go with Dept. 56 villages, so they go with Lemax, Hawthorne Village and others just as well. They are O Scale (close to Lionel in size) but they run on the same track as HO trains. They also have a limited lifetime warranty from Bachmann, one of the world's largest model train companies.
