Great help,

My kid has some speech problems that make it hard for him to talk clearly. It is also difficult to get his attention. This CD works with him he asks for it the minute he gets in the car. Some times during the day you can hear him repeating the exercises.

Love this CD,

My son is only two and a half, so we focus on the opening exercises while driving to speech to wake up his mouth. We also listen to the songs that focus on the sounds he is currently working on for more reinforcement.

I bought this for my 9yo son with Down syndrome. He and I both love the music and most of the exercises that address his articulation problems. The ones that he doesn't want to follow are just still too difficult for him to follow at this point. Anyways, I highly recommend this cd which really encourages kids to talk and sing regardless of their speech condition.

Variety of Fun Speech Songs,

I ordered this CD to use with my Early Childhood Special Education classes (ages 3-5) during a whole group time. They really enjoy the songs and have shown improved willingness to participate with the mouth movements and target sounds in the songs with repeated practice. I believe they have also shown increased self-confidence in their speech skills. I would highly recommend this CD to other speech-language pathologists working with young children, or parents who want to supplement their child's speech practice at home. Even if the kids were able to listen to this in the car, they would be able to practice at their own comfort level and improve their self-esteem for their speech.
Overall, well worth the price!

My son is just a little over 4 years old with a speech delay. He has trouble articulating so we figured this would help. We find the songs very entertaining and our son enjoys listening to the music, but it is way to quick for him. He has no time to repeat the words before the next word is being said. The good part is that we can print the entire CD and use the worrksheets to help him with certain problems. Maybe other kids would have no problem at his age but I would have to say this is more for kids 5 and up.

I thought this would be great for my struggling child. He got bored with it quickly and it did not help him. He did better with more one on one attention from myself and his dad. However every child is different and you will just have to see for yourself if it helps your child.

Good for older kids, not toddlers,

My child is 2 and he's a few years away from being able to follow the exercises on this CD. I put it in to listen, he quickly lost interest and left the room. Just for fun I continued listening and doing the exercises. I guess I'm not used to it because I got frustrated just moving my mouth so much and it got sore quickly (by the time song 2 was over, haha) Perhaps if a child is in Kindergarten or older and is used to intense speech therapy, this would be helpful to them. I wouldn't force it on any child, as much as they try to make it fun, it's not.

Ok... maybe my daughter is a bit too young,

My daughter will be three in about 3 months and is fairly delayed in her speech. Anyways, I got this CD hoping it would make her excited to talk or at least try to start making sounds, but not so much. Its mainly just mouth exercises that she doesn't understand and doesn't care about. Maybe in about six months she'll be more interested in it, but right now, she's just too young.
