While the film itself might be a bit of a train-wreck, or ship wreck, there's no doubt that Mark Mancina's score for Speed 2: Cruise Control is just amazing! Not only does it manage to out-do the music for the original 'Speed' but it makes for some of the most dramatic and intense action music I've ever heard put to film.
From the opening modified 20th Century Fox Fanfare that opens the film, the first track sets the tone for what is to follow - a high octane mix of the original industrial sounding Speed score combined with a more percussion to fit with the film's caribbean/water setting.
With a very clean and crisp mix, the album also features music on this album that was not featured in the film due to the last minute edits that took place on the film before its release in 1997. Speed 2 as a movie may be a mess but this is certainly a highly entertaining and carefully constructed score from Mark Mancina that I would say is one of the finest action scores of the 90's - check it out!

Well It's hard to put this into words, but this was simply awesome.

From the first track with the modified Fox Fanfare, to Alex and Annie's theme, to Tanker Turn and Final Chase. It's really a fantastic score.

I suggest to anyone whose considering getting this score to call their own. They should do so now before it goes OOP. Mark Mancina uses some of his old themes from Speed and gives them a huge new feel while creating some brand new music that is perfectly able to stand on its own.

I loved the movie, but the music out does it so much. The tracks are in chronological order as well so that's always a plus.
