Fascinating,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Speed Culture: Amphetamine Use and Abuse in America (Harvard Paperbacks) (Hardcover)
I only gave this book a 4 star rather than 5 because it was written in 1975 and some of the scientific facts are dated. However, this book took me write back to the 60s and 70s and the anecdotes of amphetamine abuse are so wild they're almost unbelievable. However, I know they're not and that's what makes this book so fascinating. I also think the authors show some bias against amphetamines and this could be because at the time the history of amphetamines focused on the abuse. The great strides in ADHD and neuroenhancement were still in the future. Still, this book is a great sociological study of drug use and abuse back in the day, and it's very much a part of amphetamine's colorful history.
