Yes, I only read it because it was offered free thru my kindle. That confession out of the way I have to also confess how much I enjoyed reading this. I have no interest in Nascar, so at first I considered not reading it, but it grabbed me. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed reading this. I like sexiness as a general rule, and this had almost no mention of sex. I was thoroughly entertained. So if you enjoy light reading on occasion then go for this. I have no criticisms or downsides, just fun reading. Now I might read some other Nascar related books. Good job whoever it was to offer this for free, you got a new reader for this kind of book.

I was surprised by how much I liked this book.Kendal Clarke has had one hell of a bad day. On what was supposed to be the best night of her life, she is dumped and eventually locked out of her hotel room half-dressed. Dylan Hargreave mistakes her for the actress he's hired to play his girlfriend for the night. This handsome - "sexiest man of the year" - but spoiled Nascar driver needs to be taken down a peg and meet a down-to-earth girl. One night to escape their separate realities turns into a great friendship that lasts much longer. There are so many books out there that revolve around mistaken identity. 'Speed Dating' does not. For the majority of the book, hero and heroine call each other by the RIGHT name. The story flowed well and it moved quick enough so that I did not feel the need to skim between dialogues. My only problem - and the reason I did not give it 5 stars - was one part of the book. Towards the end there is a section I truly hated. If I was the heroine I would have taken a peice out of the hero and then left him. The ending was not my favorite but it was satisfying enough. If you have a kindle then this is definitely worth reading because right now it's free.

This was a quick read that took you to a predictable conclusion, but it's a fun ride along the way.

I haven't read many romance books, but this one was a great love story. It had adventure and excitement in the begininng and as the plot moved along, I found myself wanting to write the rest of the book. I could not put it down. I was pleased to find this was not a book filled with smut! It had a clean storyline....it was a great romance. When I finished the book all I could do was smile! I would love to see a sequel to this book. I want to see Kendall and Dy really be passionate about their love and to see Kendall put Dy's parents in their place! Read it---you'll be rooting for their love to sprout just like I did.

Awful,

I only finished this book because I'm stubborn and kept hoping things would get better. Unfortunately, they never did and I just lost two hours of my life.Dylan and Kendall were annoyingly stupid and had zero chemistry together. He spent the whole book as a pawn to his ex-wife's demands, to the point that he just let her sit on his lap and kiss him passionately, all the while finding nothing wrong with it - and that happened very close to the end of the book, not at the beginning or even at the middle of it! Kendall wasn't exactly a doormat but she was just too passive and forgiving. At one point, I really thought she should dump Dylan and hook up with his ex-wife's new husband because they would make a better match. If I cared, I'd still be wondering how I was supposed to believe Dylan and Kendall's HEA; as I don't, I'll just wish them luck and forget I've ever met them. The only saving grace here was the fact that I didn't pay a cent for this book, since this was one of the freebies that Harlequin gave away in celebration of its 60th Anniversary. Other than that, this was a complete waste of my time.

Was this supposed to be a romance?,

Probably one of the worst Harlequins I've read, and I've been reading them for about 25 years. When the book starts, it has the potential to be a great story. But there's very little romance in the book, and the only relationship seems to be between the "hero" and his ex. I'll read just about anything, but when I read a Harlequin, I expect it to be an actual romance novel.

I am not at all sure why I finished this book. I guess I thought it would get better, but it didn't. I found the characters to be very flat and unrealistic. There was no chemistry at all between them and at times they were just strange. Even for free, this was a waste of time!

Downloaded this as a kindle freebie, which was the ONLY reason I downloaded it. I've always been highly amused by the fact that harlequin has a nascar line, so I thought, what the hell? It wasn't bad at all. Good enough to keep me interested, and I didn't feel like i'd wasted my time. The hero was a nice guy. The heroine was a little annoying, with all her self-esteem issues, but she gets over it pretty well.It was VERY tame. Like PG rated. They have sex, but I don't think the word was ever used in the book. The heroine remembers them being "intimate." The scene that alludes to this was so vague I didn't realize what had happened. Kendall refers to being intimate, and I was like "wait, when did THAT happen?" I prefer my romances a little steamier. That said, if you're bored, cheap, own a kindle and like romances, by all means read this book.

This book is a plain love story. But as you'll unwind the plot you'll feel the rush in your veins, the love in your heart and the loath to unfaithful people. At the same time you'll hate and love Dylan... but he has his reasons. So to cut my writing, read this book and have a really good time.
