From the Director
The film is all digital with awesome sounds of the new high performance hang gliding speed machines. Pilot Mike Barber describes speed gliding as "Sorta diving until you're scared, then wait 2 seconds more." I feel that says it all.
From the Back Cover
Tear up the skies with the new sport of speed gliding. Feel the incredible speed and experience the thrill and excitement of screaming down the mountain at a rockets pace in a hang glider.
Travel to the Canadian National Speed Gliding Competition at Sun Peaks ski resort in Kamloops, BC where you learn the basics, and then go to Telluride, Colorado for the official FAI World Hang Gliding Championship Series.
Speed Gliding racers dive down a steep course, pushing their hang gliders to the edge of the envelope, turning around pylon gates and skimming the ground through control gates in a race against the clock. Each racer must pass some part of his body or wing under the control gates, which are 20 feet high.
