For the price I did not expect much.

Pros:
- Tracks are interesting.
- Moderately refreshing to be able to drive cars in an unconventional way.

Cons:
- The AI for the cars latches onto you too tightly. Even if you are driving slowly they never get very far ahead and even when you enter Zone mode and blaze past everyone, invariably somebody is always just behind you. So clearly the AI is cheating.
- No weapons. You can only shunt and flip your car.
- Music is weak. No original Speed Racer tune.
- Voice acting is rather weak.

Make no mistake about it, readers. Speed Racer: The Videogame is a fun and exciting game that captures the look and feel of the movie. It's the closest thing to an F-Zero game on the Playstation 2 as you're going to get. It's intense. It's challenging(boy, is it ever) and it's one of the best movie tie-in videogames I've seen thus far. You can race as Speed or over 15 other characters in races through amazing futuristic tracks featuring loops, corkscrews, jumps and more from the movie. Smash, jump, flip and spin with massive "car-fu" combat against your friends in multiplayer.


While I love this game, however, there are ways that I felt they could've improved the game. First off, they could've gave more story as to what happend with Speed Racer and company(friend or foe) at this year's races. Second, why no "Speed Racer" theme or music from the movie? That boring 'techno' music just doesn't cut it. Third(and perhaps most importantly), they could've had ways to improve your car's handling-steering-acceleration and speed(like in the Need for Speed or Gran Turismo games)so, if you wanted to finish a race without having to change a racer halfway through for a better car, you could.

Overall, Speed Racer: The Videogame is an excellent game despite the flaws I listed above. If they make a second game(which, in my opinion, I feel they won't due to a poor box-office run), maybe they can correct those mistakes.

They've got a Wii, Playstation 2, and a Nintendo DS version of this game; why not a Playstation Portable version? Who wouldn't want a version for their PSP? It's a great game. Come on, WB Games.

We bought this game for both Wii and PS2 (running on older PS3 with the PS2 backward compatibility). Wii version is more stable than the PS2 version we ran on PS3. We have wheels (Logitech G25 and driving force) but they aren't recognized. Now with latest OS installed on PS3, it hangs half of the times during start-up. I assume it'll run flawlessly in a regular PS2 console.

The game itself allows the player to experience the same style tracks as in the movie with Mach 6. No back/cross country roads, just the futuristic (but unrealistic) tracks. The car can be damaged and behave as such. Teaming up is cool as there are also some trash talking between drivers. It was fun and movie lover who are curious will like to try this game. It doesn't come close in terms of features that are found in the established racing games (GT, NFS, etc)

If you like terrific arcade level graphics , colors that pop outa the screen , exotic tracks and bumper cars than this game is for you. Have fun using Car-Fu against your enemies as you try to stay on track collecting speedbossters for the ultimate blast too the finish line. Unlock Trailers , artwork , Drivers and tracks as you advance with each race. With a fun soundtrack , great action and straightfoward , simply gameplay makes this fun and appropiate for the entire family.

After watching Video game show's and reading Magazine's, alot of critics gave this game a low or average rating, so I knew I wouldn't buy it. My brother perchased it a week ago, so I decided to check it out yesterday. Turn's out, the game wasn't as bad as people claim it is. I love the use a the jumpjack's on the Mach 6, but thats not the only car you race with. There are suprisingly alot of characters in this game. The tracks are neat to, and the different abilitie's available to Car-Fu your oponent into a pile of spare parts. Overall this game was suprisingly good. I was impressed and maybe you will be too....Maybe. 5/5!!

My 6 year old love this product and enjoy playing with it. It's a product that is enjoyed by all ages.

I got the game for my kid for christmas. He loves it, the graphics are cool and the game is fun.

I was under the impression that it was for the Wii; however, it was for PS. It's possible that it was my fault when purchasing and it's not that important for me to research who is in the wrong or right. I sold it to someone in my office; therefore, I cannot rate it. I will say the product was expedited in an efficient time. My 4 year old son is a speed racer fan so I was somewhat disappointed when i opened the package and it was not for the Wii. I didn't try contacting the vendor because i believe you have to contact them via email for returns--didn't want to be bothered.
