Product Description

The SpeedTrac Speed Sports Radar Detector is perfect for recording speeds in baseball, soccer, tennis, hockey, golf, karting, football, cricket, running, skiing, racquetball, field hockey, and more. The radar does not need to be hand-held during operation. It records speeds up to 150 mph and works at a distance of approximately 60 feet. The weather resistant housing allows safe outdoor use. Operates on 4 "C" batteries (not included) or an optional 6 volt AC Adapter. IMPORTANT: The prior SpeedCheck 8 volt A/C Adapter is not to be used with this unit! All electronics are warrantied from the date of purchase by the manufacturer only. Each unit is triple tested on the assembly line of manufacturer. Due to their surface material, tennis and vinyl coated balls may sometimes give missed or inaccurate readings. Increased accuracy and reduced ghosting is obtained by placing the unit at least 15 ft. away from the subject.

1.0 out of 5 stars Avoid!, December 28, 2008

I bought this as a replacement for the speed trac model, which looks the same but has slightly different electronics. My son broke our old model. Our old model was very accurate,I had it tested against a very expensive ($600) hand held jugs gun. This model consistently reads 6-7 mph slower than actual speed.Avoid this product as it is inaccurate and definately not worth the money.

great help with your serve. easier to read indoors, harder to read outside. place the "box' next to the net, on your side of the net where your serve will travel over to the service box on the otherside. very easy to use.

4.0 out of 5 stars SpeedTrac X, August 31, 2010
This review is from: SpeedTrac X - Speed Sport Radar - Hands Free Radar Gun (Misc.)
I borrowed a jugs gun and used both to read softballs out of a jugs pitching machine. The speedtrac would not register until I backed it up to about 12 feet away. The Jugs gun would pic up the speed the second it left the machine and the speedtrac needed 12 feet to do it so I assume the difference in the readings is the drop in speed after 12 feet. At 12 feet away the speedtrac was consistantly 6 mph lower than the jugs gun. At 40 feet away it was 8 mph slower. If the jugs jr. machine was set on 40, the jugs gun read 40 and the same at 60 for the yellow dimpled balls. Real softballs were always 1-2 miles slower than the pitching machine reading.
