Watered-Down Junk Ink
on February 8, 2014
I do highly detailed art drawings with Koh-I-Noor Rapidograph pens. I use a lot of ink and the Koh-I-Noor ink is expensive. So I decided to try the 32oz bottle of Speedball. There is a reason the Speedball ink is so cheap. This ink is like water. It's terrible. It looks gray instead of black and can bleed onto your paper. Even after shaking it vigorously. (It says to "MIX IT WELL" on the bottle.) If you value your art, AVOID THIS like the plague!
Stick with the Koh-I-Noor ink. It produces marvelous blacks. But, it's not cheap. An 8oz bottle can run anywhere from 25 to 30 bucks. A 32oz bottle costs almost 70 bucks. But, it's worth it. It's back to the Koh-I-Noor for me.
