5.0 out of 5 stars Nice little EP
Right on til Dawn with Nick Saloman of the Bevis Frond alone makes this CD worth the money, although you can buy it from the Rubric Records Web site for about 3 dollars.

It was frustrating that it took so long for "Live City Songs" to arrive, and disappointing that so many songs on that record were acoustic retreads of songs she had previously released. Still, that CD is worth checking out. This EP is pretty marginal.

"Speeding Motorcycle" is a different recording from what you'll find on her "Mary Lou Lord" EP, but not so different as to matter much. Pretty pointless to include this, perhaps it's a gesture to the song's release in a recent commercial.

If you're like me, it's the two B-sides you want to hear about. What are they like? Well, "Driven Away" is the best, fun and zippy, the way Mary Lou Lord should be. I like it. Plenty & heaps. The 3rd & final track - "Right On 'Till Dawn" - sounds so similar to "The Lights Are Changing" that perhaps Mary Lou Lord should file a plagiarism lawsuit against herself. There are some vocals from Nick Saloman, but Mary carries it as far as she can. The track is pretty darn thin, however.

A better choice might be the "Mary Lou Lord / Sean Na Na" split-EP. "Bang Bang" and especially "Aim Low" had well-produced zip that this CD single lacks. An even better choice would be albums, which shine everytime I play them.
