About Speedo
In 1914, Speedo was founded in Australia by Alexander MacRae, a 22-year-old Scottish immigrant who arrived in the country in 1910. The company began when MacRae Hosiery manufacturers, established by Alexander in 1914, extended the manufacture of underwear to swimwear and became MacRae Knitting Mills. A naming competition was held by the staff in 1928 and won by a Captain Parsonson, who coined the slogan, "Speed on in your Speedos." In 1929, the first swimsuits were in production and it didn’t take long for Speedo to successfully establish itself. World War II caused the brand turn over 90% of it’s manufacturing to war production, providing the armed services with vital equipment such as mosquito nets. After the war, Speedo opened a new factory and was able to re-establish itself, due to increased demand for swimsuits. In 1951, Speedo Knitting Mills (Holdings) Ltd, was incorporated and became a publicly traded company on the Sydney Stock exchange.

Speedo hit the international stage in earnest, at the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games, and a few years later the brand grew on a more global scale. Export sales to the USA began and an international division was set up to monitor trade in New Zealand, Japan and South Africa. The expansion of the brand continued, and in 1976, Speedo was appointed as the official swimwear for the 1976 Montreal Olympics, where 52 out of 54 countries wore their swimsuits.

Speedo continues to make its mark in the pool and on the beach today. Many world class athletes who wear Speedo include U.S. phenomenon Michael Phelps, legendary Australian swimmer Grant Hackett, world record holder Kosuke Kitajima from Japan, and Holland’s Inge de Bruijn.

I love this product! It has preserved my swimsuit for so long - and I swim nearly every day. I even give it as a small gift to other swimming friends. I can't recommend it enough!

We are at the pool at least twice a week in the summer (in addition to a beach vacation or two), so having an effective swimsuit cleaner is essential. Most of our swimsuits are not machine washable (recommended handwashing), so we wanted a good cleaner to remove chlorine, sea water, etc.

Speedo's swimsuit cleaner fits the bill and does an excellent job. It removes chlorine, odors, and stains extremely well. We found that running the swimsuits on the "handwash/casual" setting on the washer with a low water level (so as to not water down the Speedo cleaner) worked best and seemed as gentle on the clothes as hand washing. At the end of the summer, all our swimsuits seem in good condition and relatively clean!

Highly recommended.

I think this product does the job. I always find myself wishing it was soapier when I am using it but it gets the chlorine out of my suits so I can't complain too much

It's suppose to clean the suit of all it's impurities. I just bought it hoping it would help with keeping the condition of my suits for the duration of the swim season and then summer. It doesn't get too sudsy and bubbly, but i've only used it in the shower after practice. I haven't done it in the sink like it asks. It's a nice bottle, comes in a suitable container. I like it, i'd recommend it. You really don't use a lot when you wash it, it seems. I share it with a lot of people and it looks almost full.

so far I like this product. It definitely helps extend the life of my swimsuits to use a cleaner and handwash my suits rather than run them through the laundry.

I put two short squirts of Speedo Swimsuit Cleaner in a sink full of water, swish it around to make bubbles, add my swimsuit and take my post-pool shower. After I'm dressed, I swish the suit around gently, squeeze it out, drain the sink, rinse it out in clean water, drain the sink, and then add two capfuls of "Summer Solutions Suit Solutions" to a clean sinkful of water to clear out any residual chlorine, and hang the suit out on the porch to dry. I swim in my saline pool every day the weather allows. I own Miraclesuits, so I have to take extra care of the suits to keep the lycra tight and the color bright. I highly recommend all three products I just mentioned.

It's a good cleaner and removes the chlorine right out of my swimsuit. Wish they had make a bigger bottle though.

After washing my daughter's Fastskin in this product as directed, I noticed a greenish-black tint to the water. I believe this product to have weakened and faded the material. The material still smelled like chlorine after washing. The directions say to rinse well after hand washing. This just introduces chlorine back into the garment via my faucet. A Fastskin is way too expensive to have another Speedo product ruin it. I am extremely displeased with this product.
