Speedo's line of Competition swim goggles are designed for the serious competitor. Made from the highest quality materials available, their low-profile design will give any swimmer the competitive advantage.
About Speedo
In 1914, Speedo was founded in Australia by Alexander MacRae, a 22-year-old Scottish immigrant who arrived in the country in 1910. The company began when MacRae Hosiery manufacturers, established by Alexander in 1914, extended the manufacture of underwear to swimwear and became MacRae Knitting Mills. A naming competition was held by the staff in 1928 and won by a Captain Parsonson, who coined the slogan, "Speed on in your Speedos." In 1929, the first swimsuits were in production and it didnt take long for Speedo to successfully establish itself. World War II caused the brand turn over 90% of its manufacturing to war production, providing the armed services with vital equipment such as mosquito nets. After the war, Speedo opened a new factory and was able to re-establish itself, due to increased demand for swimsuits. In 1951, Speedo Knitting Mills (Holdings) Ltd, was incorporated and became a publicly traded company on the Sydney Stock exchange.
Speedo hit the international stage in earnest, at the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games, and a few years later the brand grew on a more global scale. Export sales to the USA began and an international division was set up to monitor trade in New Zealand, Japan and South Africa. The expansion of the brand continued, and in 1976, Speedo was appointed as the official swimwear for the 1976 Montreal Olympics, where 52 out of 54 countries wore their swimsuits.
Speedo continues to make its mark in the pool and on the beach today. Many world class athletes who wear Speedo include U.S. phenomenon Michael Phelps, legendary Australian swimmer Grant Hackett, world record holder Kosuke Kitajima from Japan, and Hollands Inge de Bruijn.

These COMPETITION Goggles are Fantastic,
By Selah Ree "California Christian" (Currently in New York, New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Speedo Aqua Racer Optical Corrective Lens Swim Goggle (Sports)
After reading the reviews, I thought that either a) people who were writing the bad reviews were not regular swimmers and didn't know how to or were not used to wearing goggles or b) Speedo made a bad product.
For three years, I swam laps regularly - approximately 100 laps/day. However, when I went to grad school, I stopped swimming and gained a lot of weight (I was poor and had to eat cheap (i.e. bad) food.) So, I am an overweight plus-sized woman now, with a big head to boot. Now that I am starting to swim again (and lose those excess pounds), I needed a pair of good goggles. Despite my big head, I always loved Speedo products and needing prescription goggles, decided to go ahead and give this a try, hoping that Speedo would not go wrong. I was not disappointed. When I received these goggles, I immediately extended the strap. Putting the goggles over my eyes, I could not see WHAT these people (the low reviewers) were talking about. If anything, I need to change the nose clip for one of the smaller clips that comes with the product. (This is my only complaint - it is not that easy for me to get the nose clip off - but then who wants it popping out while swimming??) I figure that the low reviewers are not used to wearing good fitting goggles and are perhaps only recreational swimmers. These goggles form a GREAT seal - important for lap swimming - and are not too tight. They also are "not too small" or "for a child's head." In fact, I doubt they wouldn't fit on a child's head - they would require some serious adjustment. The cups fit perfectly on the eyes. By the way, non-serious swimmers, these are COMPETITION goggles and competition (serious) goggles are not supposed to fit like masks which fit over your whole orbital area up to your eyebrows. These fit very well over the eye as they are supposed to. I did test my theory out - putting the goggles on my non-serious, very recreational, beach swimming roommate. Her immediate reaction was "These are uncomfortable." While, I - a long time lap swimmer (minus my grad school, getting fat hiatus) - think these are awesome goggles. They fit wonderfully, give me a great seal, the prescription was amazingly good (as in, I can actually see - I bought 2.5 diopter), and the goggles are of high quality. I really like the straps. All this, and they were inexpensive! My recommendations are as follows: If you are not a serious swimmer, please do not buy goggles listed as "Competition" goggles. This usually means that the goggles are for serious swimmers who have different goggle needs and wants. If you are a serious swimmer or on a swim team or actually in some sort of competition (or just know how to wear goggles), and need a prescription to boot - these goggles are EXCELLENT. Now, let's just hope they last.

Good value but a little tight,

Overall I'm pleased with these goggles. I've wanted to get prescription swim goggles for a while, but assumed they'd be as expensive as prescription glasses. Apparently not the case.
My only complaint is that the strap doesn't loosen up enough. I have a somewhat large head (size 7-1/4), and at the loosest setting, these goggles are still a little tighter than I'd like. Hopefully the silicone strap will relax a little over time.

Poor product , skimpped on the strap which is way too short , will fit a child's head .
Even with all that the extereme pressure on eye sockets , were leaking . Prism doesn't allow to sneak peaks , goggles in general dont feel "right" . I had many goggles beofre and have always adjusted but not to this one , gone back to my old Speedos . Strongly advice to try before buying those goggles . 2115|R2M56JZXO4ZCYB;2115|RI2B2VS15L9KD;2115|R3W26P951HFTI4;
