5.0 out of 5 stars Tall Girls Want to Swim Too!
Being almost 6 feet tall presents many issues with finding clothes, shoes, and swimsuits being amongst them.
I absolutely cannot purchase a swimsuit off the rack at any store. They're few suits designed for tall girls

Nice fitting suit. Runs true to size. Legs are not high cut like some suits, so provides adequate coverage.

5.0 out of 5 stars Speedo continues to rule women's swimwear, November 16, 2008

As usual, this Speedo product lives up to the company's reputation for being "the" outfitter for both the competitive swimmer as well as the casual fitness swimmer. The physical fit is well sized and matches the published size; the construction is solid - all seams well sewn...all padding, lining and banding accurately placed and expertly attached; and there is very little "ride-up" with consequent tugging-to-fit. My only request to Speedo -- PLEASE, PLEASE make this type of suit in colors other than black and navy. Even those of us who require larger, more supportive styles enjoy having a little color introduced into our workouts. Other than that, highly recommend this suit for the size 16-and-up woman who enjoys a regular dip in the lap pool.

1.0 out of 5 stars Speedo should do better than this!, December 23, 2011
This review is from: Speedo Women's Speedo Women'S Aquatic Xtra Life Lycra Solid Ultraback In Moderate Long (Apparel)
As an outfitter for competitive athletes, Speedo should be expected to make suits for tall women. They fail miserably in this department.
Speedo no longer makes their competition-style suits in long torso sizes. Perhaps they assume that female competitive swimmers cannot be taller than 5 feet 7 inches? Or that tall swimmers should be satisfied with wearing the low-leg, "plus-size" swimwear designed for the non-athlete?
This kind of size discrimination is not uncommon in women's clothing, but it is appalling for a company who markets their products to female ATHLETES to blatantly exclude tall women from their competitive product line.
If you are tall and having the same problem with getting a decent looking competitive suit that fits, I recommend going to their web page and emailing a complaint. Maybe the idiots in their marketing department will wake up, eventually.

If you are a tall swimmer and in a pinch (bad phrase!) for a suit that fits and does not look like something you borrowed from your grandmother, here's how to do it: Order a ProBack, all-lycra suit in a size bigger than your real size. (They only come in 4 solid colors, so it won't be very snazzy.) These suits go up to size 44, so even size 12 or 14 women can make this work. It will be too big, however, the suits are very stretchy. Take it to someone who does alterations and have them shorten the straps behind the shoulders. The suit will stretch upward and tighten, taking all the looseness out of the body. And, it will be long enough.

Hopefully, another company will realize that there is a greatly under-served market here, and will start selling a perfect
knock-off version of the Splice and Flyback suits, in long torso sizes. In the meantime, keep sending complaints to the short people at Speedo.

This review is from: Speedo Women's Speedo Women'S Aquatic Xtra Life Lycra Solid Ultraback In Moderate Long (Apparel)
we look at the sizing chart and it makes sense. we then go to the select drop down menu to choose a size and it says length 10 length 12 etc., in no way does the size choice match the chart. the product looks awesome but how do we purchase it when you don't know what size to order?! someone please fix this!!! i just want a bathing suit already

5.0 out of 5 stars good lap-swimming suit, June 28, 2010
I was pleased to find this suit somewhere. Over the years I have owned several. My preferred form of exercise is swimming in a pool and for me this is the perfect swim suit for lap-swimming. Suits in this style and size are no longer available in any of the sports stores in my city, so I was extremely glad to locate one online. The price was ok as well.

I bought this bathing suit to train for my first triathlon. I'm 5'7" with a long torso and found the fit adequate, but would have preferred it to be a bit longer. Overall, however, the fit was acceptable, which is why I gave this product three stars instead of one. My major complaint is that the blue suit developed a strange coppery hue. The original color is still visible inside but the outside looks quite peculiar. The color didn't change while I was swimming in a pool. It was when I started training in the open Gulf water that it faded. I returned the first one and received a replacement but when it, too, changed color, I gave up and kept it, looking like a bad penny, because it was too close to the race to start experimenting with different suits. Very disappointing for a company with Speedo's reputation.

4.0 out of 5 stars Satisfied, March 14, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am 6 feet tall and owned a long speedo for about 10 years (yes, the same one lasted THAT long). However, since I realized it was practically see-through the last time I wore it, I sighed and knew the hunt must begin again. I swim laps and I like to dive and do flips off the diving board, so a 2-piece just won't do the trick... I must have tried on at least 30 suits to no avail at our local swim and run shop. They no longer carry the long torso speedos. So, I ended up ordering this one on line. Overall, I'm satisfied, but it still feels too short... it pulls down on my shoulders and cinches up in the rear. I tried on a few suits at the swim and run shop that were NOT sized as long, but fit similarly to this one. So, I suppose the perfect one piece suit for us tall gals is still something to be desired. This one works, though, and I feel very comfortable in the moderate cut/design. However, if you are taller than 6 feet, I doubt this suit would suffice. P.S.: I ordered one size larger than my dress size (12) as suggested by others. It is still snug, so I think it's a very wise choice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow - Love this Suit!, February 19, 2011

I just ordered this suit because I wanted to get back into lap swimming again as part of my workout. I was on a swim team back in high school, and remembered wiggling into the super tight Speedo suits (they have to be tight to reduce drag!), so I ordered this suit in a 16. I normally wear a 12-14 in pants and a L in shirts, 38DD. Anyways, this suit fits perfectly! I love that everything is covered at the bottom - the leg holes are not too tight at all. It fits snuggly, and is really comfortable. I really like the back - the scoop is not too low (super unflattering on me when it is). The built-in 'bra' feature is enough for my DD's...everything is held in place quite nicely. I'm actually wearing the suit right now, and have no plans to actually go swimming today...
