I have spinned this album over 20 times since it dropped and I can't remember the last time I listened to a new Hip-Hop album that many times, with that said the production is flawless from front to back, excellent featurings, scratches for days.
I'll say it like this, If you're down with REAL Hip-Hop then you're down with this, if you're not, then keep it moving.

I bought this album based on it's features, and it was worth the money!
Like stated, the beats are well-polished. The Rhymes are on-point. This album works, whether you're an underground head, or one of the more mainstream cats. I'm not a huge fan of some of a the features, but they're very tolerable on this album. Fav. track: "Stop, Look, Listen". Put this in the top 5 for best Hip Hop albums of 2007.

I haven't bought a new hip hop CD since Common's Be (or maybe Little Brother's Minstrel Show or Chitlin Circuit) because folks like T Pain, Lil Jon, and autotune have weakened the game like watered down Koolaid or powered carnation milk. (Remember drinking that as a kid?) But I was in a bar (Lounge of Three) on U Street here in DC, and they were playing this CD. I asked the bartender who it was and he said it was Statik Selektah. I had to ask him to repeat it like three times because I had never heard of dude. So I bought it, popped it into the player and I did a Black Rob and was like Whoa! This CD the truth. I took me a while to get through the entire CD because I kept hitting the back button. Every time I play it I listen to Stop Look and Listen a couple of times, and 6 in the Morning and Hardcore 'bout three times each. (Who knew Kool G Rap was still laying down verses!)
I decided to come on Amazon and write a review in part because I just came from a restaurant and was pumping the CD with my windows down when I drove up and when I got out a dude in the parking lot asked me who it was. So I hipped dude to the CD just like the bartender had, and by writing this review maybe more heads will check this CD out.

Statik Selektah comes very nice on his debut album here. With 19 songs (all of which he produced, and I might add he is VERY talented on the boards, if you didn't realize before you can defintely tell after listening to this album) and over 30 guest rappers (including some of the nicer ones out there & some lesser known but very talented ones as well), you get a good long album that is strong from start to finish. Of the 19 songs on here, you get 1 classic, 2 almost-classic songs, 5 are ok, the other 11 are good, and most of them are real good songs. After picking this up, I definitely have to pick his other 2 albums up as well as any future work he does, a must have album.

THIS ALBUM WAS JUST KIND OF EH....I MEAN NOTHING REALLY SUPER CREATIVE OR GROUNDBREAKING HERE. UNTIL I HIT NUMBER 13...PUNCH OUT ...DUDE I USED TO PLAY THIS GAME ON NINTENDO BACK IN THE 80'S ...I INSTANTLY NEW THE THEME, THIS SONG ROCKED, EVEN THE LYRICS WERE BOXING BASED. THE REST OF THE ALBUM WAS NOT SO GREAT.
