3.0 out of 5 stars only got it for Adam Ant..., March 24, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Spellcaster [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The movie is your typical cheesy horror movie. I was pretty disapointed because Adam Ant's part is very small (you don't see him until the very end- but his charactor is mentioned thru the movie)but he is definately the best part. As usual he steals the spotlight away from everyone else in the scene with him. It also has Richard Blade who was a famous DJ in LA for KROQ. He's pretty funny in the movie. Would I watch it at all if Adam Ant wasn't in it? Nope. But if you collect movies with him in it- I'd recommend it. He looks very handsome in it and he's very charming. He is a GREAT bad guy.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad B Horror, August 9, 2011
This review is from: Spellcaster [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I've been trying to think of the best way to put what I have to say about the Spellcaster movie. I found myself unable to suspend my disbelief for this film. I also don't expect this film to ever be put to DVD or Blueray either, not unless it is part of some movie collection. I also don't really want to watch this movie again.

I'll start with the special effects. They have got to be some of the cheesiest I have seen, the kind that if you like B movies, you might fall in love with. The monsters were seriously unrealistic among other things. I felt like the movie set was meant for some kiddy movie of that time frame, not the horror movie that I was seeing.

And then there was the characterization. I can understand someone being a glutton, someone being a promiscuous. However, the fact that there were people there who disrespected the antiques that were in the house? I honestly have a problem thinking that people were that stupid, let alone two of them. And then there was the woman who had a bunch of guns.

And then there was the ending. All I'll say is, that has to be one of the corniest endings that I have ever seen.
