Book Description

Signet Eclipse February 6, 2007
Like generations of Wren women before her, Jenna Wren is a "hedge" witch-in tune with nature and savvy in the healing power of herbs. But even a flourishing hair salon and two wonderful children can't keep her from feeling lonely, and increasingly frustrated with her ex-husband, Jack. Then one night, Jenna and her sister draft a recipe for the "perfect man." It's meant to be a joke...until Jenna's daughter uses it to reunite her parents. But Jenna may have to summon all of her powers of enchantment before she can truly follow her heart.

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Man??, June 6, 2007

The name of the setting of this book - Ipswick-by-the-sea - sets the atmosphere beautifully. The Wren family are "hedge witches" who channel nature into their spells. And 8 year old Cassie is eager to test her skills to conjure up the perfect man for her aunt. She also plans to reunite her parents with her spell.

The results of the spell make for a really fun book. And it also answers the question "Is there a recipe for the perfect man"?

The secondary characters fit in really well. The 3rd in a series (some of the characters were in former books) but it stands alone with no problem.

'Spellstruck' by Jaclyn Reding is the third book of the series but can stand alone. Int his novel Jenna has lived all her life in a small New England town and comes from along line of witches. Her young daughter casts a spell to get his father and mother back together but everything goes wrong - or maybe is all goes right. Check out the whole series; The Secret Gift (1) and The Second Chance (3.

5.0 out of 5 stars So Sweet!, April 17, 2007
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Spellstruck (Signet Eclipse) (Paperback)
I absolutely loved this story because Jack is so sweet to try and win Jenna back with planning her dream house and getting the special tub and going through all that trouble! I love how Eudora, Hallie, Jenna, and Cassie are witches and they only use the magic for good things. I think it would be awesome to go to Jenna's spa and i also love the tremendous detail of all of the Italian food. I especially liked the Uncle's and aunts and grandparents with their Italian accents and the funny words they use. This book soooo good and the intricate detail rocks!
