Perfect Man??, June 6, 2007
This review is from: Spellstruck (Signet Eclipse) (Paperback)
The name of the setting of this book - Ipswick-by-the-sea - sets the atmosphere beautifully. The Wren family are "hedge witches" who channel nature into their spells. And 8 year old Cassie is eager to test her skills to conjure up the perfect man for her aunt. She also plans to reunite her parents with her spell.
The results of the spell make for a really fun book. And it also answers the question "Is there a recipe for the perfect man"?
The secondary characters fit in really well. The 3rd in a series (some of the characters were in former books) but it stands alone with no problem.

So Sweet!, April 17, 2007
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Spellstruck (Signet Eclipse) (Paperback)
I absolutely loved this story because Jack is so sweet to try and win Jenna back with planning her dream house and getting the special tub and going through all that trouble! I love how Eudora, Hallie, Jenna, and Cassie are witches and they only use the magic for good things. I think it would be awesome to go to Jenna's spa and i also love the tremendous detail of all of the Italian food. I especially liked the Uncle's and aunts and grandparents with their Italian accents and the funny words they use. This book soooo good and the intricate detail rocks!

Just ok - not great, October 21, 2008
This review is from: Spellstruck (Signet Eclipse) (Paperback)
I enjoyed reading about the small town in Massachusetts, Ipswitch-by-the-Sea. There are some good elements in terms of the history of the family of witches and the small town cozy appeal. However, the love story between the main characters who get back together and remarry after being divorced for four years is silly. If you need something light to read then this will fill the bill but really it is just so so.

Spellstruck, September 2, 2007
This review is from: Spellstruck (Signet Eclipse) (Paperback)
Jenna Wren lives in Ipswich-by-the-sea, a cozy New England town rich
in history. Jenna is a witch, along with the rest of the women in her
family. She owns a successful salon and is raising her two children
while maintaining a respectful relationship with her ex-husband as well.
Jack Gabriele has always regretted how things ended with Jenna and
he'd like nothing more than to make things right between them again.
Jack and Jenna's seven-year-old daughter Cassie decides to try her
first love spell to get them back together, but is it magic or true
love that is at work? Unfortunately, Cassie's spell has conjured up
something else too, and it's not good.
Spellstruck is a tender and heartwarming story. Jenna and Jack are
wonderful and endearing characters. I was charmed with the delightful
people and the lovely town of Ipswich as well. Spellstruck is a
captivating and romantic love story.
