How does this work?
Clicking the “Test drive now” button launches a copy of this app on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), a web service that provides on-demand compute capacity in the cloud for developers. When you interact with the simulated phone using your mouse and keyboard, we send those inputs over the Internet to the app running on Amazon EC2 — just like your mobile device would send a finger tap to the app. Our servers then send the video and audio output from the app back to your computer. All this happens in real time, allowing you to explore the features of the app as if it were running on your mobile device.

Product Description

Product Description
Shape Safari Pro
Shape Safari Pro

Shape Safari Pro is a puzzle game using shapes to challenge your visuospatial cognition. This is the very adult way of saying, "you get to play with shapes!"

Shape Shifting

The objective is to re-create the shape that's provided by first, choosing the correct shape, and second, manipulating it properly to make the perfect match. After you choose the shape, the manipulator options will automatically appear. The manipulators depict how the image will be affected using a constant sample image. If you need to smash your image, choose the manipulator that appears smashed.

Initially, this may seem like a simple task, however with each successful match, the puzzle's difficulty increases.

Puzzles increase in difficulty based on level and number of steps until completion. These are added along the bottom of the screen and provide additional points once you complete a puzzle. The more difficult the level and more steps involved, the higher the point value.

A Little Android Helper

If you make a mistake, use the undo button. If you are totally stuck, use the hint button. A miraculous little green Android will appear to save the day. It will undo your mistakes and point to the next correct move, but the rest is up to you.

Play an endless amount of puzzles and become a visuospatial genius. You can do it, and the miraculous little Android can help!

4.0 out of 5 stars fun and outside the box thinking July 27, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase
CON's: It lacks a main menu screen or any kind of progression (difficulty ladders in a nice ui. and scores on each puzzle) It took me to use a hint to understand how/what the icons do at the top (not immediately obvious based on their icons to me. I didn't read the help in the options screen) PRO's: fun puzzle style. manipulation and the order of how you apply transformations make all the difference in solving or failing a puzzle. Some good fun for creative thinking and killing short amounts of time. I'm not sure what the Dev permission is used for though. :/ Still 4 stars in my book for the concept and logic in this game. Hope this review helps.

This is a matching/puzzle game with hundreds of puzzles and varying degrees of difficulty. Playing it is not intuitive but once you get the idea it can be fun.

You are shown a shape and your task is to select the right starting shape and modify it with tools to make it assume the same shape as your target object. The tools that you use are the strange looking icons that appear at the top after you select your shape. If you need two objects then touch the one with two objects. If you want to shrink the shapes then select the object with a smaller item in it. If you want to stretch the object vertically then select that icon. At first the effect the tools will have on the shape is not totally obvious, at least not to me. After you get used to their function you can achieve the results that you want very quickly. In the first level you will soon be able to get the right result in 2 or 3 steps.

This is really a puzzle game that requires your recognition of shapes and your ability to manipulate them into a new object. It is critical that you select the tools in the proper order as you can quickly get off on a wrong solution. As soon as I beat the level three times it started asking me if I wanted to increase the difficulty level. This is the Auto Difficulty setting and if you don't want to change yet then you can tell it to stop asking you by going to the menu and selecting "Turn Off Auto Difficulty". When you select a higher difficulty you will get new tools that you have to learn to use and the target shape is more difficult to create. At one point I created the match in three steps and the game would not let me win. Using the hint button it was possible to create the shape in two steps using a different tool, just be aware of this.

While the game seems simple it will stretch (Ha, HA!) your mind. At first it is not intuitive and using the hint button a few times will give you an idea of what the function of the tools that are provided to you can do.

The game is a small size at 620 KB and it has the following permissions:
* Storage - modify/delete internal storage contents
* Kindle calls - read Kindle state and identity

Overall the game is good and if you are able to visualize shapes in your mind you will excel at this game. It will be boring and difficult to others and lack enough action and graphics to hold their interest. For me, I give this game 5 stars for game play and it is challenging. I do wish the tools were more obvious as to what their function might be as more people would learn the game faster and enjoy it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Odd game July 27, 2012

It took me awhile to figure this game out and I'm honestly not entirely sure I figured it all the way out. There's a help menu, which continued to confuse me. I just started playing around with it and using the "hint" button to try and figure out what I should be doing. I wish there was a tutorial to help me through the first few puzzles. I'll give them a couple stars for a unique concept, lack of invasive permissions, and small app size.
