3.0 out of 5 stars Challenging, rewarding. Theory manual of historic interest., March 12, 1999

This review is from: Spencerian Penmanship (Copybook #2) (Paperback)
I enjoyed the nostalgic effort to teach myself penmanship again. Spencerian penmanship was developed to teach children of the pre-typewriter era an efficient, legible, and attractive business hand. It requires holding the fingers, hand, and arm differently than we do today, which I found challenging. However, you may skip this and simply practice copying the letters and morally improving phrases. You will find that in a few weeks your newly old-fashioned penmanship attracts interest and compliments.
