3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
The book was good, but I hated Spencer. He was manipulative and controlling and there is absolutely nothing attractive about that. He came to his senses in the end and stopped demanding and expecting things from Chardonnay, but the sweet ending couldn't overshadow the bitter taste of the beginning. But again I say, the over all book was good.

Wealthy businessman Spencer Westmoreland wanted to buy Russell vineyards since the owners were having financial difficulties from taking care of medical bills for the grandfather. When he meets with the Russells, little did he know that he had to deal with granddaughter, Chardonnay "Donnay" Russell. Upon meeting Donnay, Spencer couldn't deny his attraction to her even though she was his even change when it came to being stubborn, aggressive and sexy. Offering Donnay a solution - marry him and have his children - he would bail the vineyard out.

Although, Donnay accepts the deal, it's back and forth with the realtionship as they try to fight their growing attraction for each other.

Spencer Westmoreland is arrogant, aggressive, self assured and strictly business; however, he met his match.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Hot Westmoreland Story!, December 5, 2007

Brenda has done it again with another hot and great story about a Westmoreland family member. This time it is about millionaire deal-maker Spencer. He sets his sights on a failing Napa Valley vineyard and thinks that the deal is done until the granddaughter Chardonnay 'Donnay' refuses to sell the family owned business. He makes her an offer he thinks she won't refuse and the sparks fly romantically and all hell breaks loose. You will not be able to put this book down to find out how this hot story ends. Brenda also includes members of this family from her previous books which adds more to this latest Westmoreland storyline. Another great story Brenda and I can hardly wait to read which Westmoreland you will write about next. They just keeping getting better and better.

I have enjoyed all of the books in the Silhouette Desire series, and especially those by Brenda Jackson. This story is much like her others, boy meets girl, boy falls for girl, and by the way, girl likes boy too! It could be formulaic, but is a nice old fashioned love story. A good weekend read!

4.0 out of 5 stars Indecent Proposal, February 21, 2008
This review is from: Spencer's Forbidden Passion (Silhouette Desire) (Mass Market Paperback)
We meet Chardonnay Russell. Her family owns the Russell Vineyard, a vineyard known for making a quality product that has fallen on financial hardships. Spencer Westmoreland enters the picture with a proposal that will end all of the family's worries. But there is one catch, another proposal. He will help the Russells out only if Chardonnay agrees to marry him and bear his children. Is Chardonnay willing to commit to a loveless marriage in order to save her family's vineyard? Will she succumb to Spencer's forbidden passion?

As with all the others in the Westmoreland series, "Spencer's Forbidden Passion" is a charming love story told only the way Brenda Jackson can.

4.0 out of 5 stars I couldn't stand Spencer! But Donnay put him in his place., January 19, 2008
This review is from: Spencer's Forbidden Passion (Silhouette Desire) (Mass Market Paperback)
To me, Spencer has the to be the least likable Westmoreland. But Brenda Jackson developed his character so well that by the end of the book I was liking him, certantly not loving him.
Donnay, on the other hand, is the kind of romance heroine that I love. She didn't just blindly accept the rich man's offer. She had a brain and wasn't afraid to use it.
I love Brenda Jackson's family series and just like all families, there is always a know it all like Spencer, so keep them coming Ms. Jackson!

This review is from: Spencer's Forbidden Passion (Silhouette Desire) (Mass Market Paperback)
I never thought I would say but this is the Best One Yet. Brenda Jackson is by far one of the Best Writers ever. I sat to read this after re-reading all the others in the series and I though ok another Westmoreland. But I have to tell you she is just getting better and better and the series hotter and hotter. I bought the book last week and I have already ready it twice!

5.0 out of 5 stars Westmoreland man and the woman who tames him., December 5, 2007
This review is from: Spencer's Forbidden Passion (Silhouette Desire) (Mass Market Paperback)
The eleven book of the Westmoreland family series.

Spencer Westmoreland had heard that a vineyard with over three hundred acres in Napa Valley was up for sale. He took a drive through the area, and Spencer knew this was the land that he wanted for the vacation paradise resort he was planning to build. The last time that Spencer had heard from his attorney the negotiations was going smoothly. Then his attorney called to say that there was a problem with the negotiation. Spencer decides to take over the negotiations himself, and runs into a woman that he will make
his own.

Chardonnay Russell had talked her grandparents and her mother into not selling and she would find the financing to save Russell Vineyards. When Chardonnay meets Spencer she can't wait to tell him that he will have to go elsewhere to find the land for his new resort. Chardonnay gets the loan and discovers that the financing came from Spencer. Spencer agrees to let them keep the winery and expand it, only if Chardonnay would agree to marry him, and to have his children. She has forty-eight hours to say yes or her grandparents will lose the Russell Vineyards.

Brenda Jackson's has once again brought to life a powerful man that thinks that everything will go his way, only to be shown that he that he might not always get everything his way. This was a fast pasted story that will have you turning the pages quickly to see if Spencer will realize that Chardonnay might be worth more to him than having his way. Pickup a copy of Spencer's Forbidden Passion and enjoy another interesting story about another amazing Westmoreland man and the woman who tames him.
