4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for hikers or hiking groups
This is my second jar of Skin Squares. I'm a Scoutmaster and frequently deal with blisters. It took me a couple years (and lots of sore Scout feet) but I eventually went through my entire first jar. For high adventure hiking trips I store a couple dozen of these in a baggie and keep them in my first aid kit.

These were a bit disappointing. I thought these would adhere to the skin like moleskin does, but they definitely fall off with very little rubbing. I have to put sport tape over the top of them to keep them on. Having said that, they do provide a very nice barrier, especially if a blister is already starting.

A couple irritations:

1) They stick together, so sometimes when you fish one out you get the pad itself, plus one or more of the little mylar protective covers for other squares. Eventually you end up with lots of gel squares stuck to each other, since their mylar covers came off with other squares.

2) They dry out over time. I simply add a few drops of water to the jar (and to my baggie) every once in a while, and that keeps them moist.

These are BY FAR the best blister treatment I've used. And believe me, I've tried everything. Everyone who I've shared these with is very pleased with the results.

I'm using this product on my arches to adjust to distance running with orthopedic inserts. Although it can shift on your skin somewhat, second skin, combined with pre-wrap and athletic tape, holds up better than any other product I've tried for blister protection and prevention.

It heals blisters quickly, and it's great for dancers who wear pointe shoes especially. I suggest the square ones because they are easier to use. It's hard to get at a local pharmacy. I love it!

These are the best when it comes to blisters! I walked the Susan G. Komen 3-Day (60 miles in 3 Days) the last two years and these are priceless!! They are provided at the walk by medical but they always run out, so I bought my own this year to share with my team since I knew we'd need them. The value is great too. It's $10 for a box at a sporting goods store that contains 10 squares. Here I got 200 squares for less than $40. Fantastic Product - Great Buy.

My previous solution for foot friction problems was to tape certain parts of my foot with athletic tape, it was good for the first couple of miles of my run but then the discomfort would start. I added these squares to certain friction points and wrapped with athletic tape and problem solved! My runs are all perfect! They are a bit messy if they get squeezed (placing on bottom of foot, etc.) but the little bit of gel mess is very worth it. Highly recommend.

My daughter dances ballet (point) and can't live without them. After trying many treatments for blisters from ballet shoes the ¨¨squares¨have proven to be the perfect solution.

If you have corns, blisters, or hammer toes, this product can give you comfort in your own shoes. No orthopedics for me! Thanks to my nurse at work for helping me find this product!

It's hard to review this item for the intended use since I was hoping the strips would act like the hydrocolloid blister bandages sold in drug stores. These don't stick to the skin but merely act as buffering layer to reduce friction, ie in running.
