Love Unbound,
This review is from: Spend My Life with You (Paperback)
How are you certain that the love of your life is really the love that is meant to last forever? Janet Williams is a wife, mother, and a bank manager. When her life goes from her every day norm to things unexpected, Janet finds herself reevaluating the things she said could not and would not happen. Spend My Life with You by Christie Joh'nell took me on a whirlwind of experiences.
Janet's life revolves around her husband, Jordan, and her daughter, Jorja. While she is basking in their happiness, lurking in the background is Eric, a teller at the bank. Eric would love to have the opportunity to show Janet how much he cares for her. However, there are two problems; first, Janet is a happily married woman; and lastly, Eric is too young for her. Will Eric ever get the opportunity to express his feelings the way he would like? Or will he have to be content with being friends? Ms. Joh'nell created characters that were lively and fluid; they were quite enjoyable. The story was told from the first person point-of-view; at times told from Jordan's view but mostly from Janet's. Due to this, at times the reading was a little convoluted because the transition was not as smooth as it should and could be. The editing needed to be polished. These corrections would make for a smoother read. I still recommend Spend My Life with You to romance readers looking for something new and fast-paced. Jennifer Coissiere APOOO BookClub

When it rains, it pours,
This review is from: Spend My Life with You (Paperback)
Janet Williams has a handsome, loving husband and a beautiful daughter. She has friends that she can depend on and a job that she likes. Life is pretty good! Her life is so good that she even has a younger employee flirting with her...harmlessly of course. But as the saying goes, "When it rains, it pours." Several incidents that occur one after another cause Janet's world to come crashing down. Eric, the younger guy, is right there to pick up the pieces. Just when Janet thinks her life may be getting back on track, she is faced with yet another life-altering decision.
Spend My Life With You is a wonderful novel by Christie Joh'nell. There are lots of twist and turns in this novel, but Joh'nell does a great job of connecting everything together. The characters are well developed, the plot is very intriguing and attention-getting, and her writing style flows. Spend My Life With You is a good debut by Christie Joh'nell. Love, Lust & Distrust,

This review is from: Spend My Life with You (Paperback)
Written in first person, "Spend My Life With You" is in desperate need of heavy edits. Initially you start with Janet Williams, the main character, talking and telling readers about her life and the life of those around her. As the story grows, Jordan, her husband, begins to tell his story with no distinction, which soon makes it more difficult as they are both "I." Readers are confused by who is talking and why. There are missing words, actions that come before words and a table of contents. The storyline has an unrealistic feel and it screams predictable from start to finish.
Even with that said, "Spend My Life With You" has the makings for something much better. I do hope that Christie Joh'nell seeks qualified and professional copy and developmental editors in order to provide readers with an improved product. In its current form, I am unable to provide a recommendation. Reviewed by: Crystal

I HAVE TO APPLAUD THIS WRITER - FOR BEING NEW TO THIS FIELD I THINK SHE DID A EXCELLENT JOB! CHRISTIE JOH'NELL HAD ME THINKING ALL SORTS OF ENDINGS BUT I NEVER GUESSED THE RIGHT ONE! AND STARTING OUT WITH A BANG IN THE BEGINNING OF THE STORY WAS INTERESTING TO ME -IT WAS LIKE READING THE END OF THE BOOK FIRST! MOST BOOKS BUILD UP TO AN EXPLOSIVE ENDING. BUT DON'T GET ME WRONG HER ENDING WAS VERY TWISTED! GREAT JOB CHRISTIE JOH'NELL! I WILL LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR NEXT BOOK.

Janet and Jordan were having a perfect life until trouble started finding them at every turn. Once things started happening it was a constant downpour. Will their love prevail? This is a touching romance novel that will embrace you in the storyline and have you thinking about your special someone.
I loved the closeness between the couple. When the two decided to commence their relationship with a child, I was elated by the mere thought that they would be able to connect on a different level. The chapters were a little too short for my taste. It seemed as though as soon as I was getting into the setting I had to be acclimated to another scene. When Jordan started to ran away from Janet because of his medical problems I was truly disappointed. I felt like he should have given Janet a chance to help him through his issues. This is an endearing tale that was an excellent first installment from this author! A very strong debut! Reviewed by: Graceful [...]

Spend My Life with You by Christie Joh'nell was a good read. Spend My Life with You is about Janet Williams who thinks that she has a perfect life until something schatters her world. Janet is a wife and also a mother. She has a younger co-worker who has a crush on her but she thinks nothing of it because she is dedicated to her marriage. What Janet does not realize is that her perfect world is about to be turned upside down.
I recommend this book because it is a good read. Will Janet give in to temptation? What will turn her life upside down? Will her and her husband make it? I give this book 4 stars. 4 star review by Rasheemah aka Mistic |
