Decent looking and durable, January 22, 2012

I bought a pair of these recently after having become distressed with the poor quality of the leather version deck shoes available these days. All I was looking for was a decent deck shoe that would hold up for more than a few months in the saltwater environment. So far these have performed well. They dry out quickly after a dowsing and they don't develop the heart-wrenching stink that the leather ones will in the same conditions. These sneakers have a decent non-skid sole and stick to the decks pretty well. I've also found that my feet don't slip around on the insole when they're wet, either. I've yet to find a leather deck shoe I can say that about. The $60. price-tag is a little much, but that's Sperry's doing and not the vendor. Also, the size 12M were more like an 11&1/2,, so I went to a 13M and the size is right.
