The Spic and Span Story [Paperback]

Robert W. Stenglein (Author)

Out of Print--Limited Availability.

Book Description

May 2004
They had it! Put any name on it that suits---courage, faith, ingenuity, desperation, whatever---Naomi called it gumption. In 1930, the markets had crashed, banks were CLOSED, 40 million people lived in poverty and civil strife loomed.

Naomi, with her husband and two friends also searching for survival, invented a new product, Spic and Span, The perfect Cleaner for all Painted and Varnished Surfaces, and brought it to market. An amazing feat for four amateurs in a small midwestern city. Still more amazing---fifteen years later they sold it to Procter & Gamble!

The Spic and Span Story tells how this all came about, and also what happened to a family unaccustomed to wealth and prosperity.
