5.0 out of 5 stars Spider-man grows up, February 1, 2005
Spider-man's mantra has always been about accepting responsibility, and what greater responibility is there than that of a parent--especially when you've passed on your unbelievable superpowers!

Spider-girl is full of great adventure, a lot of great baddies, and a lot of clean, super-charged fun, but at it's core it is a comic book based on the relationship between a father and his daughter, and it is told with a lot of love and truth. I definitely recommend it for long time Spider-man fans as this "alternate-reality" is more in tune with the characters than other "real" stories, and for teen and preteen girls who are jealous that their brother's get to read all the exciting books. You won't be dissapointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not Spiderman, but Good Twist, December 28, 2004
Spiderman as a father? And his offspring is a daughter? Can a father be more protective? An interesting twist on the popular Spiderman comic books and now movies, Spider-Girl is a logical sequel for the next generation crowd. Like Spiderman, she has all the powers, and like Spiderman, she has all his problems, too - including his old enemies. Maybe this may get more girls to read comics, graphic novels, or books about strong superheroines, but maybe it may cause diehard Spiderman fans who want to see Spiderman forever youthful without a child to cringe. Nevertheless, with few really good superheroines out there besides Wonder Woman, Buffy, Queen B Superheroine, or Elektra, Spiderman's daughter may just catch on.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good (not great) comic
This is another perfectly enjoyable installment in the life of May "Mayday" Parker, the stunning Spider-Girl. If you've liked the prior volumes, you'll dig this one, too. Read more
