Age Inappropriate,

The suggested age range is "5 and up", but the maximum weight is 44 lbs! The "average" 5 yr old boy is already 40lbs (50th percentile). Most 5-6 year olds will be too heavy for this item, or will rapidly outgrow it -- so the manufacturer's suggested age range of "5 and up" is very misleading. The scooter is also very small. They should provide all the weight/height and other limits for the toys rather than just age ranges -- which in this case were very misleading. (I got this item for my nephew who is 4 yrs 9 months old, and he is already too heavy for it at 45 lbs.) Also, forget about telling me the BOX size and give me the SCOOTER'S measurments. It would have saved me a lot of hassle and disappointment.

MY SON JUST RECIEVED THIS FOR HIS BIRTHDAY! THE LOOK ON HIS FACE WHEN HE SEEN IT WAS PRICELESS. HE WILL BE TURNING 3YRS OLD AND IT IS PERFECT FOR HIM. I THINK THE HEIGHT IS PERFECT FOR A 2-4 YR OLD. I DO NOT THINK THIS TOY IS FOR A 5 YR OLD. IT WAS VERY EASY TO PUT TOGETHER, MY HUSBAND THOUGHT HE MIGHT NEED THE POWER DRILL BUT NOPE WE WERE WRONG! I HAVE A 2 YR OLD ALSO AND HE WILL BE GETTING A SCOOTER AND I'M SERIOULY CONSIDERING THE EXACT SAMEONE. YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY WITH THIS SCOOTER. IT IS PERFECT FOR MY LITTLE GUY.

It's made exactly for a 3-4 year old and it's very sturdy and safe. My son hopped right on it and didn't have any problems with manuvering it. He has never fallen off of it and it has never tipped over. He has a BLAST on it.
However, I do think the recommended age of 5-6 year old is a bit wrong. I think it would be too small for that age group.

My son received this at his 3rd birthday party, and its his favorite thing! His uncle is 5 and has one just like it, and my son has always loved it and wanted one too. We use it in the house, because we'd be scared to have our 3 year old out in the road with this. Maybe in another year with a helmet and knee pads we'll let him take it outside. But he loves it indoors, scoots all over the house, even on carpet.
The assembly was quick and easy, not a big deal. The scooter is sturdy and well made, and most of the bolts are covered. The only ones that aren't are the ones on the wheels. He has cut his ankle once on the one on the wheel, but if he was wearing shoes this wouldn't have happened. This is the perfect size for a preschooler, I wouldn't buy it for anyone over like 4, maybe 5 years old. The graphics are really cool on this too. The little guys seem to love their Spiderman. (...)

My 3 year old received this for Christmas from his Grandparents. He LOVES THIS SCOOTER! He hopped right on and can zoom all over the house! I love the fact that it has 2 rear wheels, giving it more balance. I agree with the other reviewer that 5 and up is not a realistic age for this scooter. My son is 3, and he is already 41" tall and 42 lbs, so by the time he is 5 he will have outgrown it, but for now, it is fantastic!

Good value but can outgrow quickly,

This scooter is very good value. My kid loves it! I was able to assemble it very quickly and it looks and works great. The price @amazon is very attractive; i could not find any scooter cheaper than this at Target-Walmart.
Just one downside, i think the mfr could have made this scooter more adjustable so that it could go a bit taller. I fear my kid will outgrow this quicker than i thought. So those having very tall kids, be careful.

NOT durable,

Be warned. This product is prone to break around the rear axle housing which is made of PLASTIC. So you have a steel rod running through a plastic tube. Guess what happens when the steel tube hits the plastic?
This was given to my son for Christmas. He is 3. Day 1 of scooter riding: Plastic endcaps on handles(blue endcaps) break very easily. He did not abuse the scooter, pieces of plastic just started chipping off. Not a critical part so I disregarded. Day 2: Back axel housing is plastic. Broke from the scooter falling from about 2 feet onto the pavement. 2 feet!? And it landed on its wheels! Now the axel on the left side floats around because it's plastic housing is gaping wide open. The whole deck now has a tilt to the left. My son doesn't care because he doesn't know any better. But I do. Other than the scooter breaking easily, it's great. Maybe this should be classified as an "Indoor Preschool Scooter."

I have a rather small 2-yr old toddler (he still wears some 18-months clothes), and he absolutely loves this scooter! While he can't zoom around as quick as the bigger kids, he can keep it upright (since it has the 2 back wheels) and he uses his foot to kick around a little at a time. He hasn't had it very long, but it seems to be very durable, too. He loves the watch as well, though it's way too big for him... it has Spidey on it and that's all that matters to him!

I bought my 3 year old a scooter for Christmas. My 20 month son loved it, he hooped right on and scoots around the house with no problems. I went today and got him one of his own, so there will be no more fighting. The 3 wheels make it so sturdy, he can just hop on and off with no problems. Really a great toy for 20.00. I can see scooter races in my future.

My three year old son used this for about a week before it broke. The casing that holds the rear axle in place broke and causes the wheels to wobble excessively while in use. I'm looking to replace the casings with bearings- something that should have come standard.
