Disappointing,

This review is from: Spider-Man: Battle for New York (Video Game)
Spider-Man games on the GBA have usually tended to be pretty good, which is why my expectations for Spider-Man: Battle for New York were a bit high. Well, let me be the first to say that the GBA version of Spider-Man: Battle for New York is a disappointing entry in the web-slinger's video game saga. Pretty much a follow up to last year's Ultimate Spider-Man, Battle for New York lets you alternate between Spidey and the Ultimate version of the Green Goblin (he looks more like the Hulk and less like the Goblin we know from the regular Marvel universe) as each rampage through the city on an inevitable collision course. Graphically, Battle for New York features some crisp character animation and nice comic art, but the backgrounds and areas are bland. Not to mention that the game is incredibly easy, repetitive, and very short. It's not hard at all to get through the game in a few hours, and those few hours aren't as fun as the time you spent on the GBA classic Spider-Man: Mysterio's Menace or even the GBA versions of Spider-Man 1 & 2 released alongside the movies. It's a shame because the potential was here for another great GBA Spidey adventure, but sadly the potential got wasted away.

All the levels resemble the last level with some slight variations, always different objectives, I bought this for my 4 year old who LOVES spider man, and can play the games on the PS2, but for some reason, hes just not into this game as much as I anticipated.
