Collects the oversized ASM #600, plus #601 and an Annual,
By
This review is from: Spider-Man: Died in Your Arms Tonight (Hardcover)
The 200 page "Died In Your Arms Tonight" hardcover collects Amazing Spider-Man #600-601, ASM Annual #36, and material from ASM Family #7. Chronologically first is the Annual, written by Marc Guggenheim and penciled by Pat Olliffe. The run-up to the Reilly/Jameson wedding is enjoyable, but the central narrative underwhelms, featuring a pedestrian new villain "Velociraptor" and a setup of forthcoming story arc that continues the Clone Saga in ASM 608-610. The acclaimed issue #600 spans 104 pages, the bulk an oversized feature from writer Dan Slott and artist John Romita Jr. that features Doctor Octopus, Daredevil, and Aunt May's wedding. #600 also contains six short Spider-Man segments from co-creator Stan Lee and the current cast of ASM writers and artists, plus four fake covers. Issue #601 opens the "Red Headed Stranger" arc with the repercussions from Peter's surprises both at and after the wedding. Peter's escapades seemed a bit out of character and were softened in retcon a few ASM issues later. #601 also included a Brian Michael Bendis/Joe Quesada short story of Spider-Man's visit to new mother Jessica Jones-Cage.

A really good Spidey collection!,

I'm pretty sure this book has it all. Any type of comics reader and Spider-Man fan can find something in here to love. First there is Aunt May's wedding. As corny as it sounds the stories leading up to it and the event itself were heart warming. Interesting new villains and interesting takes on old villains are highlighted here. The art from many different artists all seem to fit each different story perfectly. The only drawback is behavior from Peter that is a little more risqué than one would expect from a Spider-Man title. Overall tough, a really good book.

A Few Pages of History,
This review is from: Spider-Man: Died in Your Arms Tonight (Hardcover)
Spiderman: Died in your arms tonight is a historic graphic novel in the timeline of Marvel history because it contains Spiderman issue #600. I actually own the Spiderman #600 issue and I highly recommend it.
