For you die-hard spidey fans, this game is a keeper. The game itself actually lives up to and goes beyond the demo and is basically a lot of fun to play. For someone who is just looking for a neat game to play, I dunno about this one; it may not be worth it.

I found TONS of bugs...nasty little crash bugs, falling/crawling through walls, transition-point infinite death...

I have the game Spider Man It has elevon different levels where you have to Chase and fight Venom. You will battle the Jade Sydicate, Scorpion, run from the police, Fight Rhino, Chase Venom, fight Venom, fight the symbiots, fight Mysterio, blow up the generators, Free Black Cat, Fight Doctor Octopus, Fight Carnage, and run from Symbiote Doctor Octopus, and win. The invivcible cheat (admntium) will not work on the last levil where you run from Symbiote Dock Ock You will be killed if you don't crawl up into the vents and run. The rest of the cheats will work on the last level.

For you die-hard spidey fans, this game is a keeper. The game itself actually lives up to and goes beyond the demo and is basically a lot of fun to play. For someone who is just looking for a neat game to play, I dunno about this one; it may not be worth it.

I found TONS of bugs...nasty little crash bugs, falling/crawling through walls, transition-point infinite death loops, computer controlled introduction animation sequences that leap spidey to his immediate doom and the occasional crash to the OS...stuff like that. I have a high-end computer running WinME with a GeForce 2 Ultra. There were some pretty obvious bugs/anomalies which could/should have been fixed prior to its release...or at least a patch would be available post-release, you'd think?

Anyway, it pretty much ruined the whole storyline thing for me and made the usual collection of spidey mags impossible. I finally resorted to using the cheat code to complete all of the levels. The level-bosses are fun and interesting, though not at all difficult to beat in Normal mode.

All in all, a pretty fun game...if not a bit frustrating with all of the bugs. My $0.02 worth (and kinda wish that was all I payed for the game).

This review is from: Spider-Man (CD-ROM)
this game is the one of the coolest games i have ever played on the pc. i have the demo (pcgameworld.com) and it was sweet. the graphics were better than most and the missions and abilities that activision put into this game are great. (spidersense, shoot web shots/balls, web slinging, etc.) i can't wait to buy it, neither should all you spiderman fans.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cool game, but some frustrating problems, January 18, 2005
By
This review is from: Spider-Man (CD-ROM)
For the most part, I've so far greatly enjoyed this game. There are, however, some problems that do distract from the enjoyment.
1. The camera takes too long to catch up to Spider-man's movements and makes it difficult to know where everything around you is.
2. The save game feature is faulty. I save the game at every prompt to do so, but when I start again, it always starts me off a number of levels lower than where I saved.
3. The biggest problem - the insta-death areas. There are at least two areas in the game where control is taken from the player in order to show Spidey following some set route, and control is not given back to the player until after Spidey launches himself over a cliff edge, resulting in unavoidable death.

5.0 out of 5 stars both awesome and horrible!, March 1, 2006
A Kid's Review
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Spider-Man (CD-ROM)
This game is Pretty cool. But on Venom Chase you don't have anymore control over Spidey until he falls of a building and dies. You must use mme web as a cheat code to skip that level.
I like fighting Carnage because I found a way to beat him faster. Try to knock Carnage into the shield and his energy will start to go down. The web swinging is wierd because when you webswing you fall onto the closest building top and thats just dumb and boring. Fighting Rhino is also dumb because I dont get why those generators are there. This game is only worth the money if you really like Spider-Man

1.0 out of 5 stars Poorly Written Software-PATHETIC SUPPORT, January 7, 2005
This review is from: Spider-Man (CD-ROM)
First off, it is a fun, simple game. But when you cannot fight one of the main bosses in the game, Scorpion, becuase of a bug, and when you contact Activision's support they will only offer you a cheat code to skip that level. WHY are you buying a game in the first place?! Don't you want to play ALL the levels, and EARN them wihtout cheat codes?!
I'll never buy another piece of software from Activision until they get a patch for this. I have the same problem on THREE different pc's (1 win98 and 2 XP's).

4.0 out of 5 stars Great game! Love the What if mode!, July 3, 2007
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Spider-Man (CD-ROM)
Spider-man for the PC is sooooo cool, no doubt. I think the graphics are awfully good, and there are quite a few bosses to fight.
There are overall about 15 levels, and the toughest was probably the one where you need to swing from a falling crate.
I was excited when I found out Carnage was in this game, for I'm quite a big fan of his. (It was freaky when Doc Ock and him fused together)
There are lots of movies to choose from, and many of them are fun to watch. A few drawbacks are 1.On several levels you can't touch the ground, and that's understandable, because on the first movie Carnage and Doc Ock unleash poison gas in that area-but I still think that's cheap.
2.In the short movies, the only characters who's mouths move are Carnage and Venom's!Maybe it was tough back then to animate the small mouths of the regular superheros.3. I can't really think of anything else, except that Human Torch is ugly in this game.
The training levels are quite fun, I like all of them.
I also enjoy looking at the characters in the gallery, because you can hear them say a phrase after a while and zoom in on them.
Some of the comic books are impossible to get unless you put in the code LEANEST which gives you all the gallery stuff, costumes, and levels.
There are ten costumes to choose from, most of which are not better than the normal costume.
The whatif mode is great! There are lots of funny things they add in the movie, like you meeting Human Torch, and in the hostage level you get to see Spidey boogie! The code for this is UATUSEES.
A few more important ones are GLANDS,ADMNTIUM.
All I can say now is explore the whole game, for secret stuff is everywhere! (There is no blood on this game)

P.S. On the first level when the copter chases you in what if mode, swing to the giant blimp to see Silver Surfer!
