Product Description

As the beloved photojournalist-cum-webslinger, you'll freely explore New York's skyline, sewers, and hideouts to fulfill several missions. Use Spider-Man's superhuman strength to fight such notorious foes as Scorpion, Venom, and Rhino, and his spider abilities allow you to spin webs (of any size) to disable and detain bosses, swing around buildings, and creep along walls and ceilings. And thanks to your spider-sense, you'll be able to detect impending danger from a distance. There is no wealth or fame at the end of this game, however. Action is your reward.

4.0 out of 5 stars Money well spent!! May 17, 2001
I've been a fan of spider-man since I was a little kid. I was excited that this game came out on dreamcast. I was the first to buy it when it was released. The story line on the game is good. It has some humor in it, which is funny. The graphics are great in the game. The sound is pretty well done also. When you first play the game, the controls are hard to get used to but after a couple levels it get's pretty easy. There's non-stop action throughout most of the game. You do get to some parts that might throw you off a little, but if you stick with it you'll be able to get through it. I've played this game over and over again and I haven't got tired of it yet. I think this game is well worth the money spent. It's better then the Play Station and N64 spiderman games by far....get it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very easy at some parts, very hard on others! February 3, 2002
This game is fantastic, the graphics are nice, the cinematics are great, the game is just so fun. The thing I thought that was unique and fantastic as when you have beaten a level, in the special options you have the ability to watch the cinematics from each level you have beaten, you may also play the level(s) you have beaten. You can also go looking for comic books in this game to add to your collection, which is also a part of the special options. I find it very entertaining swinging from building to building, or crawling on the top of the walls, and yes you can allways do it, it is never disabled. There is some parts that made me laugh, well actually the only thing that made me laugh was Venom and his comments towards Spiderman, oh and his tone of voice. This game can be extremely easy at some parts, and extremely hard and frustrating on others. Mainly the part when you are climbing up a building and a helicopter shoots misiles at the building, trust me, you won't get it on your first try, or your second! But this is a great game, other super heroes have small parts in the games cinematics like Black Cat, Daredevil, and the Human Torch. This is a must buy, I just can't stop playing it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun but too short and easy. November 8, 2001
By Milton
This game is great! Believe it or not, I got to the last level(Spidey vs Monster-Ock) in the first day I got it, the second day I completed the game. But what I most like about the game is that there are comic books on almost every level and I have found most of them, only 3 more comic books! But it is a great game.

5.0 out of 5 stars Revision of one of the greats December 20, 2013
Verified Purchase
The greatest SpiderMan game ever made? I don't know, but back in the day we were playing the Nintendo 64 and this game was a pretty big deal. I always wanted to see this game redone with perfected graphics, and the Dreamcast delivers. I mean, it looks like PS2 basically. Nice work Sega. You're SpiderMan and of course what does Spidey do? Wall crawl, explore the skylines, fight, beat villains and save people. It has guest features like Black Cat and Dare Devil. You fight a variety of Spider Man villains; namely Dr Octopus, Mysterio, Venom, Scorpion, Rhino, thugs and snipers. It has a lot of beating up and switch finding. Surprisingly the control scheme is alright though a couple spots here and there can be a little confusing as to where to go. It's a classic beat em up game, with original voice casting from the show. Listening to Stan Lee narrate is always cool. The biggest improvement is the graphics. They were terrible on the N64. By the way, the Carnage battle at the end of the game is pretty lame. So is the run from Dr Octopus at the end. Just sayin.

5.0 out of 5 stars not 5 out of 5, 10 out of 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! August 19, 2001
I am not just bigging up this game because I am a die-hard spiderman/marvel comics fan! I was elated to see how many characters this game incorporated from villains to heroes. Right from the get go, the updated retro theme song is very cool! Gameplay is very addictive, and difficulty is well set to be not boringly easy, but not insanely difficult. Sounds are excellent, movement is very fluid. The graphics, though well done, remind me of early tomb raider sprites; the faces/mouths don't move. There were a few times that i had to put down the controller and return later, though, because i got stuck at certain points. I have nominal cons for the game, however: the game often times leaves you asking "ok, now what?" the camera angles will sometimes mess you up too. Those who have played the sonic adventure series will understand what I mean.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great game with little problems! May 27, 2002
By Andrew
if you are a die-hard spider man junkie then this is the game for you!!!! Not only is it a great game to beat it is also fun just to mess around. i sold my copy a few weeks after it was released because i wanted to buy a new game. Recently i saw Spider-man in theaters and i am totaly psyched to buy it again. i am hoping to get an x-box and buy the version on that but until then i need something to tie me ever. this game is the best spider man related game over released on one of sega's products. the only flaw in this game is the poor facial features. mouths that don't move ect. This factor is obsolete to the fun factor in this game. BUY IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

3.0 out of 5 stars Pros and Cons April 27, 2001
By Yu Wang
I found the following might be some good infos for buyers...
Pros: Comic collections. Movie Viewer. Movie Scenes for Spiderman fan. Guest appearence(Punisher, Dare Devil, Captn' America, Black Cat, and Fireman). Different outfit for the Spiderman(Captn' Universe, Symboite, 2099 and etc), each has its special abilities. Game Play: Webbing, Swinging, and Fighting.
Cons: Game Play Control: The analog feature for this game on dreamcast is annoying. Slow Loading. Special Customs throws the difficulty level off. Training room. Game is too short. Dissappointed ---> You don't get to fight the Dr. Oct in Symbiote mode.
