Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions is most likely the best Spider-Man game to date! You play as four different Spider-Men from different dimensions, and you try to find the fragments of the Tablet of Order and Chaos. The Tablet enhances the power of those who posses a fragment of it, so boss fights aren't going to be a cakewalk! Spider-Man has to recover the fragments before Mysterio. Otherwise, all four Spideys are doomed.

The moves the Spideys use are pretty similar to each other, but usually with a twist. For instance, what would be webbing in the Amazing universe is symbiote tendrils in the Ultimate universe. In the Amazing universe, you play as good old regular Spidey. This guy has flashy moves, and the cel-shaded animation makes it look like a moving comic book. In the Noir universe, set in the early 1900's, Spidey doesn't really have a costume- more like a bulletproof vest, goggles, and some regular pants. Here, even getting caught by one enemy could be fatal. So, you must sneak around, disposing of crooks from the shadows, one at a time. In the 2099 universe, not only is everything futuristic, but Spidey also has special aerial moves. Finally, in the Ultimate universe, Spidey has so much raw power, that he can easily take down about 30 enemies in a few seconds. Plus, he has a rage meter. When it fills up, Spidey gets even stronger! The gameplay varies throughout the dimensions. The controls are only occasionally frustrating, but for the most part, they're really great!

The graphics are also great, especially during the cut-scenes- the characters look so realistic! The environments are fantastic and different for each level. The voice acting is also spectacular, and the sound effects are pretty good too. The music, I have to say is only average.

The boss fight are really cool! You'll usually fight the same boss more than once in each level. At certain points, you get up close and personal to have a "boxing match" that's a bit like Punch-Out. Otherwise, you have to figure out your opponent's weakness and fast! The two boss fights I've played so far- Kraven and Electro- were awesome!

Overall, this game is a fantastic buy! It not only has all kinds of exciting adventures, and features, but also minimal cons. Good job Activision!

Oh, and the concept art book is really neat too.

This is a very fun game once you get used to the controls. I like the controls on this game more than web of shadows out of 1 fact: they don't overdo it on the motion controls. For an old fart like me, at the ripe old age of 29, getting used to motion controls is difficult. The ultra cool part of this game is the different spider men, which is the big selling point of the game. I think it worked out well.

The flaw in this game, and it is really annoying, is the camera. The camera is 3rd person, but it doesn't lock behind the character. So I end up running directly towards the camera. Some levels the camera will lock at ground level pointing up at the back of spidermans head. One example is the vulture level with noir spiderman where you have to run around a burning building finding trapped citizens. So the camera locks in a position where I can't see where I'm going, can't see the holes in the floor or the fire that keeps killing me. They could have fixed this very easily by just giving the player some way to reset the camera or lock it's perspective.

Another flaw is the "zip to perch" control, but the flaw is really the result of the bad camera controls. As the camera rotates, the perch points highlight 1 at a time. But they will only highlight based on the camera. So if the camera locks into a bad position, the choice for jumping to a zip perch locks into a bad location. This is really annoying in particular when I am trying to jump away from a location and I want to jump to another zip perch and I hit the "zip to perch" control and I zip back to where I was just jumping away from.

In recap: The game is fun, the camera stinks.

Well folks I asked my 8 years old son's review, and he said simple it is the best. He received it for Christmas and he gave it 5 out of 5 stars, hope you enjoy it as much as he is.
