2.0 out of 5 stars Buyers Beware
This fridge was bought at toysrus. You CAN NOT, have this unit plugged in for more than 10 hours. The reason I know this now, is because we bought this fridge for our office to store milk for our coffee station, and it started to leak. So we took out the instructions, and it specifically says you can not run this fridge for more than 10 hours or you will cause damage...

This fridge was bought at toysrus. You CAN NOT, have this unit plugged in for more than 10 hours. The reason I know this now, is because we bought this fridge for our office to store milk for our coffee station, and it started to leak. So we took out the instructions, and it specifically says you can not run this fridge for more than 10 hours or you will cause damage and breakage. This was not specified on the decription online or outside the box, so who would know this. This could also break the units fan. Our first symtom is that it has been leaking water, not sure from what area of the fridge its leaking from yet. But we are considering returning this item, as it was not properly advertised.

While I do not own this particular model of refrigerator, I have owned several that operate in the same manner. Cooling or warmer is achieved through the Peltier effect using a TEC or thermo electric cooling module and heatsink or coldsink that absorbs the heat or cold and a fan that blows over the heatsink (coldsink) to dissipate the warm or cold air. The heatsink (coldsink) is an aluminum block with fins cut into it and it operates like the radiator in your car. The fan blows over the aluminum block moving the heated or chilled air into the interior of the refrigerator. Some refrigerators have an aluminum lining on the interior and do not require a heatsink (coldsink) or fan. The aluminum interior or the refrigerator becomes the radiator and the cold is dispersed through natural convection.

The water that you see leaking is condensation, just as a window air conditioner would remove moisture from the air as it cools, this unit functions the same way. Since the unit never reaches freezing, the water drains instead of becoming ice.

Finally, I cannot speak for this specific unit, these types of units can run continuously. I have one in my office that is almost two years old and one at home that I have used for beverages for several years.

The 10 hour issue that everyone is speaking about is related to water that accumulates on the inside. All you have to do is wipe it every few days. The water has no place drain by itself and thus the warning. It works fine for me to leave it plugged in all the time. It's not that much water. The units get cool enough to store drinks and fits nicely on my desk.

I have this refrigeraotor in my room. It is not to loud, but still alittle loud, but it cools and warms your food in about an hour. The only thing i don't like is that when you turn it off the food or soda doesn't stay cold.

This product was not advertised as something that couldn't be used continuously. It cannot be used longer than 10 hours at a time and that was not explained in the advertisement.
