Sporting 31 points of articulation, this is one of the best Spider-Man action figures out there. Double joints at the elbows and knees mean less exposure to the hinges, while finger and toe articulation allows for more realistic poses. Attention to detailing is obvious with the clean lines, good paintwork, and nicely sculpted gargoyle ledge. By clipping a string to Spidey's wrist, you can make him swing from the ledge. And then, with a push of the button, you can raise him back to the top. The gargoyle can be attached to the wall with a pushpin, but the included C-clamp allows the action to just as easily be attached to a table or windowsill. Play tip: take two pieces of clear fishing line, wrap one end of one line around Spider-Man's wrist and attach the other end to a stationary object. Repeat with the other wrist and Spidey will look like he's webbing from ledge to ledge. --A. Galindo

Finally, a toy that can actually be posed in over hundreds of ways has hit the market! This action figure is not like other "poeasable" figures. This Spiderman action figure (Spiderman's true identity is Peter Parker) allows you to make Spiderman move with over 30 points of articulation. With the upcoming blockbuster "Spider-Man the Movie," this will no doubt be a popular item. Spiderman is a hero that moves in so many ways, and it is good to know that this toy allows you to recreate Spiderman's amazing Web-swinging moves. Spiderman's coolest feature are his fingers which fold in the position with the middle and ring finger back to look like he is about to shoot out web string. His head(ball jointed), chest, waist, wrists, elbows, arms, legs, knees, ankles, feet, and toes all move to create the perfect battle poes for Spidey. The painting on the toy is outstanding as well. He is blue and red with web designs all over his body, and even a dotted texture on some parts of his body that look like the texture of a spider's legs! The spider logo on his chest and back are nicely painted as well. Plus his amazing silver eyes make him stand out more. Also, the shading and blending of colors, like dark red to red to light red on his head, make the figure look more realistic. The Spiderman is exactly identical to the one from the movie! And who can forget about the nice wall mountable gargoyle eagle-looking head that comes with the figure. It has a c-clamp to put on surfaces or a mount to put on walls. A string can be pulled down from the gargoyle's mouth, that is black with a ring on the end, so that Spiderman can use it to swing like a web string. The wring fits on his wrist, but it is hard to put on so don't force it. Warning: when you push the button on the gargoyle's head to make the string go up, it goes up way to fast that it may send the figure flying out and come loose from the ring. It is the only negative aspect about this toy. I decided not to fuss with it as it may ruin the beautiful figure. The action figure of series 1 is from Toy Biz and is recommended for ages 4-13, but also is good enough for any Spidey fan that is older. This is truly worth getting if you love Spiderman and plan to see the movie as well. The figure's costume is so much like the spiderman from the movie!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Cool!, May 8, 2002

This toy is awesome! it can move more ways than most people can!
While this action figure looks like the best toy ever, it's not.
I'll just write down the good and bad things about it.

good things:

the gargoyle ledge is very detailed, as is spidey.

the spider-man action figure has 32 points of articulation (which helps when he has to use that spider-agility).

The figure is very easy to pose, so you don't have to sit there for 5 minutes just to get the pose right.

Not so good things:

The detail on spider-man's costume is very good, but the paint isn't. this causes the paint to be off target(especially on the web pattern).

When you rotate his arms and legs, his muscles look, well, strange.

The colors on his costume aren't as vibrant as they are in the movie.

The web line is black instead of white, and the clip that goes on spider-man's hand is kind of tight. If you pulled too hard the hand might break off.

All in all, this is a great toy, but if you're getting it from the store and not online, look closely at the paint job and then look to see if there's another one that looks better(not all paint jobs are the same).

5.0 out of 5 stars Your Friendly Neighborhood Spidey Toy!, May 7, 2002

This Spider-Man figure has mad articulation! 30 points, from a ball-jointed head to flexible ankles and feet, he's capable of almost anything the human body can do. And since he's a super-hero, quite a bit more, as well! Plus, he's capable of holding those poses without falling... if you balance him correctly. Truly a Spider-fan's dream toy.

As if that's not enough to recommend him, this Spidey's also intricately detailed, and features all the wild textures of the movie costume. Coupled with his stony gargoyle base and the simple (but strangely compelling) web-climbing action, he's as good a movie figure as any ever released. In fact, he's arguably the best. You'll need to look around for one with decent paint deco, though. With this much detail at such a small size, they have a tendency to look a little sloppy. You can all-too-easily scrape off the paint on the elbow pegs on the inside of his elbows, too. But these are minor flaws on a figure this whacky and fun. Spidey makes an excellent movie souvenir, or a playtime buddy for any age appropriate kid!
